When it comes to breakfast, I need to have some protein to make it through a morning in the garden or I’m starving waaaay before lunch time. But on the weekends, I like to have something lighter. When I received the tart cherry juice by Apple & Eve to sample, I knew I wanted to make a smoothie. Then I ended up making my own almond milk and it all came together!

I used:
1/4 cup of homemade almond milk
1/4 cup of Tart Cherry juice (from Apple & Eve)
1/2 cup of plain yogurt (I should get around to posting directions to making yogurt!)
1 TB honey (from my backyard)
and a handful of ice
All went into my individual smoothie maker and blended up nicely. I would have liked to have added from fresh cherries but I missed the window for picking this year. Maybe next year?

While I did receive samples of Apple & Eve juices, I would have bought the cherry flavored juice as I mentioned not being able to pick my own. My teens actually love to drink juice (water or milk being their favorite drink) so I like to mix it up for them as they aren’t soda drinkers. I especially love the fact that the juice doesn’t have added sugar because that’s how I make my juice as well. #PurelyOrganics
