The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul said on the 19th that it is investigating Oh Jae-won on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Oh Jae-won was previously investigated for drug charges due to a report from a woman he was with on the 10th, but he reportedly denied the charges at the time. The police sent Oh Jae-won home after the simple drug reagent test came out negative.
However, the police later confirmed additional clues about Oh Jae-won's drug administration, issued an arrest warrant, and secured a recruit that day.
Meanwhile, Oh Jae-won was the main infielder of the Doosan Bears from 2007 to 2022, and helped Korea win a gold medal at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. After retiring, he served as a baseball commentator, but he was controversial due to interviews targeting Park Chan-ho and social networking games with Yang Chang-seop.
