How to fix Netgear Router troubleshooting?

Netgear router setup and troubleshooting for the initial installation or re-configuration of the Netgear router, the installation CD is not required. There is a setup wizard in the router management interface which you can use to setup Netgear router troubleshooting.

 

Old NETGEAR router and gateway come with an installation CD. Even if you've lost your CD, you can still set up your router by following the link in this article. Do not use the new router and gateway CD installation. There will be 2 ways to install your Netgear router troubleshooting. Smart wizard or manual installation Netgear router setup using smart wizard or manual installation.

 

  • Make sure your internet service is working first. Connect the ISP modem directly to your main computer with Ethernet cable and make sure that your computer is getting direct internet through the modem. For DSL internet connection, you will need setup PPPoE connection on your computer for direct Internet access. Once you can get the internet directly through the modem, then we will go ahead and your router will be installed and call to Netgear customer service.

 

  • Now connect the modem to the internet port on the router with the ethernet cable. Take another Ethernet cable and connect to the main computer for one of the LAN ports on the router as shown in the picture below.

 

  • Now you open the internet browser on your main computer. The address bar will be the IP address of these addresses at http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 .one in your Netgear router which we will use to open the Netgear router troubleshooting setup interface. It will prompt for username and password.

 

Username: Administrator

Password: Password

Enter the default login certificate above:

Note: both user name and password are case sensitive

 

If the default user name and password are not working then you may have changed the password. In this case, you must reset the router on the factory default settings. There should be a reset button on the rear panel behind the router and any type query call to netgear customer service. Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds (you will need a pen or paper clip for this). Once resetted, unplug the power cable, wait for 10 seconds, plug the power cable again, wait for 30 seconds. Now try to log in with the default username and password.

Once you are in the Netgear router setup interface, you can manually change or use the smart wizard. The settings will depend on your ISP.

 

  • Using Smart Wizard
  • Click the setup wizard
  • The setup wizard displays the screen
  • Select Yes and click Next
  • The setup wizard detects the type of Internet connection
  • For cable internet connection, the setup wizard detects dynamic IP
  • For DSL internet connection, enter PPPoE login username and password. These fields are case-sensitive. This information should have been provided by your ISP and any query call to netgear customer service.

 

To check if you are connected to the Internet, select the router position under Maintenance.

 

Manual settings:

  • Click on the original settings.
  • Cable for ISP - Select Internet connection type Dynamic IP - From ISP. Also, select "Use this computer's Mac" option. Save settings.
  • For DSP ISP - Select the option "Does your internet connection require a log?" - Yes.
  • Internet Connection Type - PPPoE
  • Enter the PPPoE username and password given by your ISP. Save settings.
