Skin care for newborn babies is a risky endeavor. As your child's immune system develops in the early months, use the softest cleansers and the smallest amount of lotion. However, if dry skin, eczema, and diaper rash appear, it is time to address these issues. Your newborn requires baby skin care products that are free of dyes and fragrances. Here are a few tips on how to shop for baby care products.

  • Read labels thoroughly. Dyes, fragrances, and chemicals in baby skin care products can irritate a baby's skin and breathing.
  • Natural newborn care products are suitable for the majority of infants. However, if you or a family member has allergies or asthma, your newborn may be sensitive to botanicals and herbs in some products.
  • The term "hypoallergenic" can be deceptive. The term indicates that the product is less likely to cause an allergic reaction, but it does not imply that it is gentler on the skin than other products.
  • Look for phthalate- and paraben-free products. These chemicals may be harmful to infants.

Set up the baby's nursery with the following newborn care products:

  • Shampoos, washes, and soaps for babies: Cleansers and washes are gentle and safe for infants. However, baby soaps should be used with caution because they can dry out newborn skin.
  • Baby lotion: Aids in the moisturization of newborn skin. On tiny newborns, use with caution. Since babies have the most sensitive skin when it comes to their face, make sure you use face cream instead of the lotion as it has a different formula altogether. It protects and moisturizes the baby’s face without being too harsh on it. Even though it is highly underrated, face cream for babies is a must have in your baby care product kit.
  • Diaper rash can be treated with petroleum jelly. It forms a protective barrier against wet diapers on baby's skin. It is possible that you will be asked to apply it to the healing circumcision site. However sometimes petrolium jelly may not suit the baby’s skin so test it on the hand before applying.
  • Diaper rash ointment: Creates a moisture barrier on baby's skin, protecting newborn skin from irritation caused by wet diapers. You can also get diaper rash creams to cure and prevent diaper rashes. A few experts of baby care products recommend using Komal kawach diaper rash cream by Baby forest.
  • Baby oil: This classic is best used as a massage oil for newborn skin, not as a moisturiser. It is not well absorbed by newborn skin. The Badam Sneh Organic Cold Pressed Almond oil by Baby Forest is one of the best and the safest Babyforest newborn care products.
  • Baby laundry detergent: Look for baby detergents that are free of perfumes and dyes. Regular detergents are too harsh for newborn skin. The same is true when it comes to selecting dryer sheets.
  • Baby powder: If using baby powder, look for talc-free powders and keep it away from the baby's face and genitalia. The powder's talc or cornstarch content may cause breathing difficulties. Use sparingly.

With so many must-have checklists available, it's all too easy to become overwhelmed by the prospect of doing the right thing. That is why we want to emphasise that there is no "correct" way to prepare for the baby. We hopt he above list and the tips help you provide the best for your newborn!
