The surrogacy process is the most amazing, challenging, and confusing journey of life. Surrogacy clinics France have personally experienced the same and guided hundreds of other future parents on their journey.
A surrogate mother is a woman who helps you realize your dream of parenthood. The women undergo medical and psychological tests and is prepared for the process.
Below, the surrogacy process is going through seven steps.
- You choose the program according to your own circumstances
Surrogacy clinics start with a tutorial that goes through the process step by step to find out which program and destination is right for you. Then select a program and make a schedule.
- Fertility research, donor search/use of own eggs
To find out if your own eggs can be used or if a donor is needed, a fertility study will be done. The quality of both ova and sperm is examined.
- Own ova - In vitro fertilization
- Oocyte donation - donor selected
- Choice of surrogate mother
With years of experience, the professionals of become parents will help you find a surrogate mother for surrogacy treatment France who meets your needs and desires. The exact progress of the process depends on the selected program.
- Fertilization and embryonic development
Once the sperm has been donated and the donor/donated egg has been selected, in vitro fertilization occurs at the infertility clinic. The fertilized egg is matured in the laboratory for 5 to 7 days until the blastocyst stage is reached.
An embryo that has reached this grade is subjected to a PGS/CGH test. It is a genetic test that is done on an embryo before it is implanted in the uterus. Its purpose is to determine the quality of the embryo before implantation in order to prevent certain abnormalities and syndromes such as Down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, and Tay-Sachs disease.
- Embryo transfer
The surrogate mother initiates treatment so that the embryo can be transferred. The treatment lasts about a month and requires several visits to the clinic.
Before the embryo is transferred to the surrogate, the same tests are performed once more as in the application phase. This will ensure that she continues to meet the criteria for a surrogate mother and that no new conditions have arisen.
According to the wishes of the future parents and with the consent of the surrogate mother, one or two embryos are implanted. The remaining embryos are frozen for later use in surrogacy in France if the parents so wish.
Male couples have the opportunity to plant one embryo fertilized by both. In this way, a twin pregnancy can be achieved in which the children have a genetic bond to both parents.
About two weeks after the embryo transfer, a blood test is taken to see if the hormone levels have risen to “unusually” high levels. If so, the surrogate mother is likely to be pregnant. An ultrasound examination is booked to confirm the pregnancy.
Two weeks after IVF and embryo transfer, it remains to be seen whether the surrogate mother is pregnant. If not, the embryo transfer is repeated.
- Pregnancy and childbirth
Once the pregnancy is confirmed, maternity care for the surrogate mother begins. Develop a pregnancy plan that is a common map for all parties during pregnancy. The plan includes health check-ups, appointments with the surrogate mother, and other milestones. Expectant parents receive ultrasound images and reports about every two weeks during pregnancy. The birth takes place at a pre-arranged clinic, and you, the future parent, are there.
