When Should You Gift Pearls?

Pearls are white shiny gemstones that are produced by shellfish. The defence mechanism of a shellfish against foreign bodies leads to the formation of a pearl.  It is a slow and gradual process. To obtain these pearls, they need to be extracted from the oyster. Naturally obtained pearls are jaw-droppingly beautiful, very delicate and expensive.

Most people celebrate their silver jubilee and golden jubilee wedding anniversary. Did you know that traditionally the 30thwedding anniversary was known as Pearl anniversary? Pearl jewellery is the perfect gift for the Pearl anniversary as the name suggests. You don’t necessarily have to wait so long to own a pearl. You can buy a pearl ring, earrings or even a pendant.

Pearls usually go with all outfits, Indian and western wear. When added with kundaans it makes the perfect traditional wear and when added on platinum jewellery it makes great western wear. These pieces of jewellery are a great gift and can be passed on to the next generations. Pearls tend to lose their shine with time when moisture settles on it.
