An official has reported that GST evasion detection by tax officers has almost doubled year-on-year, reaching over Rs 1.01 lakh crore during the just concluded 2022-23 fiscal year.
During the previous fiscal year, officers of the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) made a recovery of Rs 21,000 crore.
The government is taking measures to enhance compliance and has been utilizing data analytics and human intelligence to identify fraudulent activities, according to the official.
