Surveys of university students in China have shown that many see bright futures for cryptocurrency in their country. One quarter of respondents stated that they would be interested in working in the digital asset and related technology industry. A little over one-third of students have digital coins.

17% of the students polled had invested in crypto-currency

China has a mixed approach to charity coin. One, Beijing's government effectively banned major cryptocurrency exchanges and coin-offering schemes from the mainland. However, certain regions of China allow the crypto mining industry to flourish with abundant and cheap energy under favorable climatic conditions. Six crypto experts were recently hired by the People's Bank of China to work on plans for a digital currency.

Contrary to the authorities, however the Chinese have adopted decentralized currencies much more quickly than expected and for obvious reasons. Not only are they useful, but they also resist censorship. The survey confirms that tech-savvy young people have the highest expectations of the future and are eager to adopt crypto currencies. Over 8% of Chinese students own cryptocurrency. Another 9% previously invested in digital assets.

Panews conducted the survey with 131 college and university students in 26 Chinese provinces. This was reported by 8btc this weekend. More than 77% of respondents were undergraduates. The remainder are graduate students. While most of the respondents are in management and economics, there are some who are interested in literature.

It is worth noting, however, that 27% said they would look into the blockchain industry as a career. The main source of information regarding the crypto space is still media. Nearly 40% of students see media reports as being influential. However, nearly a quarter admit that they don’t know much about the blockchain. 22% of participants acknowledge negative coverage from mainstream media, while 17% admit to hearing more positive news.

The study authors point out that cryptocurrency-related courses in higher education institutions in China are still uncommon. The survey also revealed that 67% of the respondents knew at least some basics about cryptocurrency. Around 15% said they didn't know anything about digital currencies like neo and ethereum. Only seven respondents knew the names of all 11 crypto terms such as "mining,"“stablecoin,"and "hash price."

While the People's Republic is cautious about cryptocurrency and has tried to limit their spread within the Chinese economy and society, Beijing has not been blind to the development decentralized coins. The country's Center for Information and Industry Development publishes regular cryptocurrency rankings that evaluate different projects in the space using their own logic.
