Pat Cummins and Kagiso Rabada have risen to the second and third positions among bowlers, respectively, in the most recent ICC Test rankings, while Josh Hazlewood has fallen out of the top three. After recent impressive performances, Marco Jansen completes the top five.

The batting rankings have been greatly impacted by South Africa's outstanding batting performance against Pakistan in the second Test, as they amassed 615 runs in their opening innings. Ryan Rickelton's outstanding 259 sent him up 48 spots to No. 55, while Temba Bavuma's century (106) catapulted him to a career-high No. 6. Additionally, Kyle Verreynne improved, climbing four spots to No. 24 following a century.

Babar Azam of Pakistan advanced to No. 12 after scoring 58 and 81 in his most recent games, bringing him closer to the top ten. After India's recent loss in Sydney, Rishabh Pant made a remarkable comeback, moving up three spots to No. 9 after scoring 40 and 61. In third place, behind world No. 1 Joe Root and second-place Harry Brook, is his teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal. The rankings show how international cricket is changing and show notable changes after heavy Test match activity.
