The truth is, if you want to see more patients in your office you need to learn to market. In this article we will address some useful information in regards to marketing your service.

Marketing your service is not that much different from any other service business. Now, I am not saying that your service is not unique or needed. What I am saying is once you know how to market successfully, it is easy to market anything.

The thing to remember when you start to market is why people use your service. I know that animals use your service and that is important however, they can not pay you so we will talk about their owners and how to market to them.

Okay, there are many reasons people bring their pets to you and many come too late or only when their animal is in pain. We should not market to that client as such, instead we should market to them in the form of prevention. For example, We could take one service such as heart worm and tell the pet owner about our preventive service or product. Remember this, people will do more to prevent something than they will to gain. It is called 'fear of loss' in selling.

We want to tell the customer the features ad benefits of using our service such as to help their pet live a longer, healthier life free from heart worm. The customer can relate to this and what could happen if this prevention was not taken. This fear of loss - in this case the loss of their loved one, (the pet) causes motivation to take action.

You have to remember you are doing them a favor by telling them about this service. Marketing is king over everything you do. for example, I know you are a DVM but you must learn to think that you are also first a marketer of vet related and pet related services. Once you get this idea in your mind you will see that your practice will start to grow beyond your wildest dreams once you implement the prop per marketing and mindset.

veterinary marketing of my marketing teachers told me along time ago: "It is not the thing - it is the marketing of the thing." I have found this to be very true and using it can and will put you light years ahead of others in your arena.
