The primary ingredients of ice cream are milk, cream, sugar and air. Ice cream gets 40 to 50 percent of its volume from air that is blended into the ingredients to give ice cream its texture. It owes its thick and creamy quality to butterfat, which contributes to about 14 to 25 percent of the ingredients. Ice cream is therefore, high on calories and fat. Well, who considers or expects frozen delights to be healthy. Most people do not. However, if a frozen dessert axes off some of the cons of ice cream while promising a rich and better experience, then it is certainly better to indulge in this better sweet treat.
