Dawn Solstice woke up one morning to what she thought was a normal day. Her sister jumping on her bed to wake her up, the sound of birds chirping, being very tired. How does Mila have this much energy on a Monday morning?
Dawn thought.
She rolled out of bed and went to make herself breakfast.

She then remembered that her mom did not have work today and said she would make her and her siblings breakfast.
"Good morning, honey!" Her mom chirped happily.
"
Good morning Mom." Dawn looked at her mom. She was wearing her pink apron that was a gift for her birthday and flipping something in the pan. It was either pancakes or eggs.
Dawn hoped it was pancakes, she could not stand eggs.
Mom put her food onto a plate and set it in front of Dawn.
Yes! It's pancakes!

They were a bit burned but a person as hungry as Dawn would not complain.
Next into the kitchen came Mila.
"I woke Tom up but then he threw a pillow at me."

Mom "tsked". "Don't worry Mila, I'll deal with him. In the meantime eat your pancakes." Mom left in the direction of Tom's room.
Dawn ate a piece of her pancake. She felt mist curl around the back of her head. She turned around and saw nothing. It's probably just some type of headache.
Yet Dawn could not shake the feeling something big was going to happen.

As Dawn was brushing her teeth she saw a glittering splotch in the mirror. She turned around. Nothing was behind her. She checked the mirror. Nothing again. She rubbed the spot where she saw it. Yet again, absolutely nothing. Am I hallucinating? Dawn thought.
"Dawn, hurry up! I need to brush my teeth." A whine came from the behind door, followed by banging on it.
"One second!" Dawn quickly finished and headed out before her sister kicked the door down.

Dawn hoisted her bag onto her back and headed out the door.
She began her walk to school. She hummed her favorite song. "Cut it out!" A angry voice hissed. Dawn looked to her right. Watering his plants was a grumpy old man. "Sorry Jeff." Dawn stopped humming and hurried up before Jeff could start a "kids these days" speech.
At least I didn't hallucinate or whatever that stuff was.

Dawn saw her school and began picking up her pace.
An image of a metallic ball came to her mind, like a glitch.
She saw her school again.
Dawn didn't think much of it and continued walking. She saw the metallic ball again, this time with a faint blue glow.

The image dissapeared and she saw her school again. She walked even faster.

The metallic ball came again but with a brighter blue glow.

It switched to her school again.

Get to school and it will all be okay. Dawn told herself.

The image kept on flashing in her head.

Ball

School

Ball

School

Ball

School

Dawn ran into the open doors of her school.

She came out in a metallic oval shaped-room that had a dark oval opening at the end.
The metallic walls had ripples as if it was moving.
Everytime her hand got close, the metallic wall shifted away like a blob and then formed the wall again.
Dawn turned around to get out of the school door but to her horror, it wasn't there. She checked the ceiling just in case she fell through, nothing.
She checked all around her but found no escape from the metallic room.
She looked at the dark opening at the end.
Is that the exit? Dawn thought.
Her guts were saying Don't do it!
Her horror movie senses were saying It's a trap! It's not safe!
But then the walls began to shrink around her.
What if I get trapped in here and can't leave?!
Against her guts and horror movie senses, she ran to the door on the other side.
She ran through the dark opening and came out in a whole new world.
