Jim Corbett National Park spread over an area of 500 square kilometers is India’s oldest national park that receives heavy footfall from the tourist from all over the world. The national reserve is a favorite among wildlife enthusiasts due to its exquisite geography and the flora and fauna that inhabit the forest lands. The park got its name from the well-known hunter turned conservationist- Sir Jim Corbett. The park was earlier known as Ramganaga National park after the major river that flows through the terrains and was later named as Hailey’s National Park after Jim Corbett’s sister, and then was finally named as Jim Corbett a few years after the conservationist’s death. The park is rich in several species of mammals including leopards, tigers, sloth bears, elephants, jackals. It is also blessed with around 600 species of birds that are exclusive to the forest lands.
