CIDC Vishwakarma Lifetime Achievement Award For Akhilesh Srivastava

The Chief General Manager (CGM) of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Akhilesh Srivastava is going to receive the Vishwakarma Award (VKA) for Public Officer at the 10th Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) Vishwakarma Awards 2018 in New Delhi.

Recognizing the efforts of the CGM of the NHAI in modernising highways infrastructure in India, Mr Srivastava will be facilitated with the achievement award for public officer among six other prominent people in the same category on 7th March, 2018.

The CIDC  Vishwakarma award is an initiative of the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, to honour the work in the Indian construction industry. The CIDC identifies the contribution of individuals in their specific domains for the growth of the construction industry and signifies their career milestones with the lifetime achievement award.

The NHAI highway projects in-charge, Akhilesh Srivastava, is becoming increasingly known for gradually modernising the highway sector in the country. Mr Srivastava successfully implemented various projects under his supervision. These projects include Electronic Toll Collection (ETC), Wayside Amenities (WSA), Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), and UAVs and LiDARs for highway projects in India.

Mr Akhilesh Srivastava brought transparency and ease in Toll payments by enabling instant and automatic toll deduction at Toll Plazas, which mitigates traffic at Toll gates. And with the WSA project, Mr Srivastava modernized the commuter experience with advanced civic amenities along the national highways in India.

Mr Akhilesh Srivastava headed the ATMS project incorporates Information Technology (IT) to manage highway incidents such as traffic jams, gridlocks, accidents, toll frauds, and other highway-related incidents by escalating emergency services like ambulance, excavators, cranes, and others.

Mr Akhilesh Srivastava is currently digitalizing dispute resolution mechanism in the highway sector by introducing the ODR system. It uses advanced technology to resolve contract disputes between various parties in the construction industry. Srivastava’s consistent hard work and commitment contributed to modernizing and digitalizing the highway infrastructure in the country. The NHAI official successfully deployed Project Management & Information System (PMIS) with GIS tracking facility which will help in meticulously monitoring the operations along National Highways in India.

By integrating IT in highway projects Mr Srivastava delivered phenomenal outputs and earned new projects and assignments in Highway Operations. Alongside WSA project, Mr Srivastava is working on Solar Light, Web Radio, Road Safety, Incident Management, and Green Plantation projects along the National Highways in India.

Noting the contribution of NHAI chief Shri Akhilesh Srivastava, the CIDC is all set to facilitate him at 10th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2018 at Stein Auditorium, New Delhi.
