I) DOWNLOAD

ATTENTION. Origin is not working with server and retail CD version needs lot of fixes: use bf-league.eu version!

II) INSTALLATION (space needed: 5.11 GB)

1. Install Battlefield 1942 to the default folder C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\...
2. Set 22-digit string with BF1942 CD KEY Changer.exe: /files/justpaste/d523/a18719421/a96e7427acdb4b70cda75cd7fcaa85772.jpg
Use your own cd-key or generate with this tool: https://www.randomlists.com/string?base=9&length=22&qty=1 (press 'Refresh')
3a. Installing FinnWars mod to 64bit Windows:
Start FinnWars_1.82_installer.exe and install to: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 1942 (default folder)
3b. Installing FinnWars mod to 32bit Windows:
Start FinnWars_1.82_installer.exe and install to: C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\Mods (default folder)
4. FW must be in folder 'Battlefield 1942\Mods\FinnWars', not 'Battlefield 1942\Mods\Mods\FinnWars' etc.

Windows 10 -fixes:

‘Control Panel’ > ‘Programs’ > ‘Programs and Features’ > ‘Turn Windows Features on or off’, opening ‘Legacy Components’> clicking ‘DirectPlay’ > Hit ok
- Enable Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode for BF1942.exe: /files/justpaste/d523/a18719421/2238464747e37f90420c4ea9a4deeb16.jpg
- Enable ‘Run this program as an administrator’ option for BF1942.exe
‘Properties’ -> ‘Compatibility’ -> ‘Change settings for all users’

III) SETTINGS IN BF1942

1. Start Battlefield 1942
2. Do not create a new profile - just change the player name of profile CUSTOM PROFILE  
3. Set off English Dialog: Options -> Sound -> move to next page: Sound Options 2/2 -> English Dialog
4. Choose correct resolution in Options -> Video

IV) JOIN TO THE FINNWARS SERVER

Join to the Suomi 100: Multiplayer -> Update
Show FinnWars servers: ‘Custom Filter’ -> ‘Show all’ -> ‘FinnWars’

V) EXTRA

bf-league.eu:n BF42 version contains present-day resolutions but FoV is set for 4:3 monitor.

Modify FoV

2. Extract ‘Settings.rar’ and then extract ’16 x 9.rar’ (if you have a 16:9 monitor) to folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings
(this one replaces original VideoDefault.con file)
3. Enable ’Read-only’ mode for VideoDefault.con file:
‘Properties’ ->Attributes: stick Read-only

Add FinnWars shortcut to the Steam Library
1. ’Library’
2. ‘Add a game…’
3. ’Add a Non-Steam Game...’
4. ’Browse…’ -> C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe
5. ’Add selected programs’
6. Click BF1942-name with right side mouse button in Library games section -> Properties
7. ’Set launch options…’ -> paste:
+game FinnWars +restart 1 +game FinnWars
8. Rename ‘BF1942’ to ‘FinnWars’
9. Press ’OK’ ja ’Close’
Now you can start FinnWars mod with this shortcut
