What is the main concept of Christianity: Righteousness and the Godly/Holy Life?


Let's discuss this to know what God commands.
God's law contains instructions for how to do what is righteous/how to practice righteousness/how to train in righteousness..
Why do we need these instructions, Soy? To implement them.

Ok now let's consider these instructions. List them.
There are 613 laws in the the OT and 1,050 laws in the NT that instruct how to act in line with God's righteousness. They are found here:

Ok let's make a list of His laws to IMPLEMENT them.

Try to start implementing them.
REMEMBERING:
(1) We could be righteous when God IMPUTES us the righteousness of His Son through our repentance and faith in the Son of God.
(2) After our repentance/conversion we should start OBEYING the words/laws of God in the Bible.
(3) Those who kill and do not stop killing after "conversion" and repentance are in fact killers. Those who are pedophiles before and after their conversion are pedophiles. Those who are sexual immoral before and after their conversion, still LIVE in sins and punishment of God is approaching them like all sinners.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,a]" nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

(1 John 3:15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that eternal life does not reside in a murderer.

1 Corinthians 5:11
But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a verbal abuser, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.

The Son of God says to Christians:
The one who is victorious will inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son. 8 But to the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”

NOTE:
No one who remains in Him (GOD) keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin (NO ONE LIVES IN SINS!!!!) has seen Him or known Him.
7 Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous. 8 The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the very start. This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.…

The problem is: our churches and your sects do NOT teach today what the Bible says...No one commands you to OBEY the Scripture and to BE RIGHTEOUS but God said in the Holy Torah that we should be HOLY like God is HOLY!!!! This was the reason why He gave us the laws in the OT too!
Ok please continue to list of our laws to implement them and let's consider them to remember them and practicing RIGHTEOUSNESS as God commands us in the Holy Bible.
Let's read the context of this verse:

All Have Sinned (Rom 3: 9-20).
God’s Righteousness Through Faith (Rom 3:21-26):
God imputes us the righteousness of His Son (who is the Creator of the universe) through our FAITH in Him/the Son of God:

21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through FAITH in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe.
For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Should we continue to live in sins confessing our FAITH in the Son of God?
NO! If we will live in sins, we will die in sins and God will judge us for our sins.

"He (JESUS) himself bore our sins" in his body on the cross, so that we might DIE to sins and live for RIGHTEOUSNESS; "by his wounds you have been healed." 1 Peter 2: 24

Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase?

Romans 6:2
By no means! We are those who have DIED to sin; how can we LIVE in it any longer?

Romans 6:11
In the same way, count yourselves DEAD to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:15
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!

1 Peter 4:2
As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.

The God of Israel COMMANDED us: Be HOLY for I am HOLY.

Hebrews 10:10
And by that will, we have been made HOLY through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

It is our responsibility to live in sins or with God.


If we will live in sins then God does not live with us.

He abandons sinners (sexual immoral people..)


If we live in sins, we will die in sins and after death God will judge us for our sins.



That is CLEAR.



What is the result of such sins/life style? Sexual immoral people do NOT inherit the Kingdom of God, unbelievers/in-the name-only believers too.



That is why it is OUR responsibility to COOPERATE with God and ABANDON our sins in repentance to live with God...



Or we have the second option: ungodly life, leading us to the Lake of Fire.

What are sins/difficulties, obstacles & hindrances?

"Then shall we know, if we press on to know the Lord." Hosea 6:3


The expression, "press on," implies that there are many sins, difficulties, obstacles and hindrances in a man's way, which keep him back from "knowing the Lord." Now the work of the Spirit l is to carry him on in spite of all these obstacles—to lead him forward—to keep alive in him the fear of God—to strengthen him in his inner man—to drop in those hopes—to communicate that inward grace—so that he is compelled to press on. Sometimes he seems driven, sometimes drawn, sometimes led, and sometimes carried, but in one way or another the Spirit of God so works upon him that, though he scarcely knows how—he still "presses on." His very burdens make him groan for deliverance—his very temptations cause him to cry for help—the very difficulty and ruggedness of the road make him want to be carried every step—the very intricacy of the path compels him to cry out for a guide—so that the Spirit working in the midst of, and under, and through every difficulty and discouragement, still bears him through, and carries him on—and thus brings him through every trial and trouble and temptation and obstacle, until He sets him in glory. It is astonishing to me how our souls are kept alive. The Christian is a marvel to himself. Carried on, and yet so secretly—worked upon, and yet so mysteriously—and yet led on, guided, and supported through so many difficulties and obstacles—that he is a miracle of mercy as he is carried on amid all difficulties, obstacles, trials, and temptations.


Let me add:

"Now the work of the Spirit is to carry him on in spite of all these obstacles—to lead him forward".


Our life is like a flight to the Kingdom of God.

We are flying through mountains (difficulties, obstacles and hindrances in a man's way, which keep him back from "knowing the Lord).

In poor visibility conditions, pilots use navigation systems which enable them to fly in spite of all obstacles—to lead them forward and survive.

The Spirit of God helps us to fly forward. Some of us will be crashed by our sins in mountains because it is our responsibility too to follow and use navigation systems or not.

Some of us will land safely in the Kingdom of God, being safe and saved, if we will OBEY God and LIVE WITH Him IMPLEMENTING what He commands and says in the Holy Bible.

But only one gets the prize!

We do it to get a crown that will last forever!

Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown!

"Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge (JESUS), will give to me on that Day (the DAY of HIS RETURN to our PLANET), and not to me only but also to all who have loved his appearing." (2 Timothy 4:8)

(1 Corinthians 9:24-27)
For It IS Written Thus Says The Lord, YOU HEAR THE VOICE OF THE LORD...

Consider carefully what you HEAR. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more. Mark 4:24-25

So, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts Hebrews 3:7-8

Therefore consider carefully how you LISTEN. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him. Luke 8:18

He replied, "My mother and brothers are those who HEAR GOD'S WORD AND PUT IT INTO PRACTICE." Luke 8:21

Then the LORD spoke to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of words but saw no form; there was only a voice. Deuteronomy 4:12

Paul said: This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have HEARD Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:17-24

Man does not live on bread alone, but on every WORD that comes from the MOUTH of God. Matthew4:4

That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom you also trusted, after that you HEARD the WORD of truth, [the word of truth is not a book], the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:12-13

Blessed rather are those who HEAR THE WORD OF GOD AND OBEY IT. Luke 11:28

Give EAR, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and HEAR, O earth, the words of my mouth. Deu 32:1

But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them,

I announce to you today that you shall surely perish. Deuteronomy 30:17-18

I will hear what God the LORD will speak, For He will speak peace to His people and to His saints. Psalm 85:8

While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” Matthew 17:5

For everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words and does them, I will show you what he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug and went down deep and laid a foundation upon the rock; and when a flood arose, the torrent broke against that house and could not shake or move it, because it had been securely built or founded on a rock. Luke 6:47-48 (listens to my words does not mean listen to someone reading the Bible, it is listening to his live, spirit words.)

Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. John 5:25 (We are the dead of whom he is speaking. But when we hear, we will live.)

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life-giving. John 6:63

When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice. John 10:4-5...And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. John 10:16

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. John 10:27

Everyone who is of the truth HEARS MY VOICE. John 8:37

Then he said, The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth. Acts 22:14

This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. 1 Corinthisans 2:13

But My people would not hearken to My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them up to their own hearts' lust and let them go after their own stubborn will, that they might follow their own counsels. Psalm 81:11-12

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven Hebrews 12:25

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation. 3:20

So call to mind the lessons you received and heard; continually lay them to heart and obey them, and repent. Revelation 3:2-3

For the letter to the Hebrews says, "God, who at sundry times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by his Son:" mark that, God has spoken to us (his apostles, disciples, and church), by his Son. Hebrews chapter 1

Thise who have EARS TO HEAR LET THEM HEAR, LISTEN AND OBEY WHAT THE LORD SPEAKS...
REMEMBER:

...fight the good fight, keeping FAITH and a GOOD conscience, which some have rejected and suffered SHIPWRECK in regard to their faith.
1 Timothy 1:19

But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 1 Timothy 1:5

1 Timothy 3:9
They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a CLEAR conscience.
Jesus teaches us that those who have ears to HEAR, LET THEM HEAR what the Spirit speaks.

A believers hears and knows the voice of GOD, from the study of His word as we are told. And Jesus says by this we know that we are of His flock when we HEAR HIS VOICE SPEAK TO US, AND LISTEN AND FOLLOW IN OBEDIENCE IMPLEMENTING it.
Yes! Yes! the penalty of sin is death... whether its spiritual death, which to be disconnected/separated from God, emotional and mental death, which is to be completely in guilt and disabled to even think properly, mind out of wack, financial death, which is to have all your finances to fly away like the wind, or physical death, which is to have your life taken away because of your sins and burn in hell eternally.

The Penalty which mean as the Scripture points out wages/price one pays for sin is not worth the temporary pleasure.

Jesus Christ has already paid the wages/price for our sins debt, and as Paul says should we continue as believers to sin so that His death will continue to pay for our sins debts? God forbid!

When we do so, we crucify Him all over again frustrating the grace of God's amazing grace! He died once and once for all sins, so why do Christian believer refuse to give up sin in their lives when they say they have been born again, made anew from above? Don't they understand that they are only Falling into the hands of an angry God who hates sin, and has promised to punish unrighteousness, and especially those who are called by His name as His children? Yes God is going to start the Judgement from the Church of God! Get Ready, Christians!
And YES! the JUDGMENT OF GOD will start at the house of God. Which means God will judge those who are called by His name, who have the truth of His gospel, because we are suppose to live according to this Manuel (BIBLE) that He has left for us, and many are not doing so.

His principle of not showing favortism stands... as Paul says in I Corinthians chapter 5, how can God even began to judge the sins of those in the world without first judging the sins of those who profess and confess that they belong to Christ in the church?

This is the same principle and word God gives out about a person judging others in theirsin, when you yourself are in sin. As Jesus say get out your own eye before you try to get the splinter out of another person's eye.

Ella (my friend) says, Sweap around your own front door before you go talking about what someone else should do about their front door.

Therefore, God must do according to what He teaches us otherwise, How can God fairly judge the world of their sins, fully knowing that there are believers who are in His house claiming to be born again of His Holy Spirit and Son, and yet are in sin?

Therefore, GOD MUST start in His OWN HOUSE CLEANING FIRST, before He can judge the world of their unrighteousness before Him.
WHO TOLD YOU THAT GOD WILL NOT JUDGE HIS PEOPLE/BELIEVERS? Where is that in scripture?

So are you a self-righteous moralist? Hear what God says you thinking that no one knows anything about Jesus the Christ but you... how silly can that thought be?... Therefore,YOU, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

But because of your stubbornness and your UNREPENTANT HEART, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, GOD will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism.

All who sin apart from the law (gospel) will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law (gospel) who will be declared righteous. (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law (gospel), do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

Let God be true, and every human being a liar... for God will judge the saint and the sinner. What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”“Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.” “The poison of vipers is on their lips.” “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

For we will ALL stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD, FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD, FOR YOU AND ALL THE PEOPLE OF GOD!
Let me remind you these words written in the Holy Scripture:


"The righteous shall live by faith." (Galatians 3:11)

Killers will NEVER inherit the Kingdom of God.


One man condemned me in hatred toward God. I told him:

"hatred against the Lord?
Are you kidding?
I even do not hate satan and his followers.
I am sorry to see their destruction in the God's prophecies.
Believe me I do not hate you too.
I just do know who are you....
What are the fruits of the Holy Spirit in your life?
God knows you but do you know Him?"



Brothers, but what are the fruits of Holy Spirit in your lives?

Let me remind you of this Bible passage:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23


When we study this particular Fruit of the Holy Spirit, we find that it is translated differently in various translations. Some translations show it as faith, while others describe it as faithfulness.
The Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionary explains that the term used when the scripture was written would have meant "...moral conviction of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God..." to the readers of the time. I think this definition more closely lines up with the way we would define the word faith, so that is what we will examine here.
What is faith?


NOW FAITH is the assurance
(the confirmation, the title deed)
of the things [we] hope for,
being the proof of things [we] do not see
and the conviction of their reality

-Hebrews 11:1


Faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses.

Faith is the "title deed," or, essentially, the proof of ownership for the things that you are still hoping for. The things that, with your senses, you can't even see yet. In fact, you may be seeing the opposite! But, it is your faith that is the confirmation that you already possess it in the spiritual realm. Faith is probably one of the biggest challenges, because it is believing in something that you can not see, long after you thought it would have appeared. That is why faith is not something you have to come up with on your own - It is a One of the 9 Fruits of the Spirit. I have heard a lot of Christians say that they are not sure that they have enough faith for something. Hey, I've even said it myself. But, faith is not something that you just have to scrounge up from inside of yourself. It is something that grows inside of you from spending time with God's Holy Spirit. That’s why I cannot save my friend Walid Saifaddin Ashour, but God is able to give him faith in his heart caused by the Holy Spirit. And this faith in the Son of God will save him. So the fruit produced by the Spirit is more than being faithful, it is having faith! Being a person of faith is what makes us trustworthy.


Never think that you do not have enough faith. The Holy Spirit is your source for as much as you need! So we see that faith is a spiritual gift given to the regenerate only as it is produced in their lives as a fruit of the Spirit. How can a lost man have faith? The Spirit has to be at work in his life before anyone has any hope of believing! In the Holy bible we read that grace and faith are gifts from God and not of works. Faith is not something we can work up on our own. Our continued ability to take God at His Word, to trust Christ, is a gift from the Spirit produced as He works in our lives with the Word of God.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves;

it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9


Faith is a gift and also a manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit. The gift of faith is imparted from God through the Word of God, but the fruit of faith is produced by the Holy Spirit. The gift of faith can move mountains, but the fruit of faith is what is required for daily living. The fruit of faith enables us to walk and live by faith. Without this kind of faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).


We all are to call all men to obey the Gospel/Good News of salvation through faith in the God Jesus, repent of their sin, and trust Christ. But we must do so with this assurance: it is not up to us to persuade a man to believe and repent. It is not up to us to pick the most effective and emotion stirring words to bring him to faith. We do not bring faith out - God puts the faith in!! We preach the Gospel/the Good News of salvation for every Arab and Muslim and Jew and call all to obey it understanding all along that God gives repentance and faith. He gives the increase. All we do is sow the seed of His words!


But who are you?
What are the fruits of the Holy Spirit in your life?
Guys, all check the fruits of the Holy Spirit in your lives because God is going to look at them too and judge us accordingly!
He is the Judge!
What are the fruits of the Holy Spirit?

“But the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” (Galatians 5:22)

Walking in the Spirit
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

LET ME SAY THIS THIS WAY:
I say then: Walk in the Spirit (WITH GOD, OBEYING HIM), and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh (YOU WILL NOT SIN). 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit (LIVE WITH GOD AND NOT IN SINS), you are not under the law (YOU WILL NOT BE CONDEMNED BY THE LAW TO DIE FOR YOUR SINS).

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.



Let me remind you how God is going to gather the fruits of our lives:


Brothers, God sent prophets to Israel to save all people from His coming WRATH against their crimes/evil deeds. All prophets called people to abandon their sins and turn their hearts to the God of Israel.
Jesus explained us how can we reach the Kingdom of Heaven. He gave the parable of the man/ landowner who hired workers for the day, each at a different hour of the day and when the day was finished he paid them all the same wages (they all reached the Kingdom of Heaven). But some of them were killed. How could people claim obedience as God’s people and still reject His prophets? God repeated His appeal through His prophets to an unrepentant people to save them and give them eternal life. The situation becomes even more critical. The landowner sends his own Son, believing that they will surely respect him. But the tenants/farmers see an opportunity here. They believe that if they kill the son they will then receive His inheritance.

Background: There are 5 main characters in this parable: 1) the landowner—God, 2) the vineyard—our world, 3) the vinedressers — all people, 4) the landowner’s servants—the prophets who remained obedient and preached God’s word to the people of Israel, 5) the son—Jesus who existed always and came to our world to dwell among us and save us. Let’s read now the parable/story said by Jesus to see who can enter into the Kingdom of God.


The Parable of the Wicked Vinedressers


“Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country. Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit. And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another. Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them. Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’


But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves,
‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’
So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him.
“Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?”
They said to Him, “He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.”
Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:

‘ The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
This was the LORD’s doing,
And it is marvelous in our eyes’?
“Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”

Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking of them. But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitudes, because they took Him for a prophet. Matthew 21:33-46

Jesus said here that He is the Stone rejected by people. He came to them from His Father. But they killed Him. God wants to receive our fruits/holy life but if you kill and commit violence you will NEVER inherit the Kingdom of God. You, a killer, will NEVER be accepted by God to His HOLY dwelling place. God came to gather fruits of our life. If there is only violence or sexual immorality, He will judge us for violence and immorality no matter if you are a Christian or a cow-worshiper. The Son killed by people become the Chief Cornerstone. He is God Himself and equal to His Father. Moreover He is the Judge during the Judgment Day.


That is why let's practice:

love even expressed toward enemies and brothers,
joy because God is faithful,
peace with all people and enemies,
longsuffering for insults and truth,
kindness when you could revenge,
goodness when no one does this,
faithfulness toward God and people,
gentleness,
self-control to control yourself from sinning.
Against such there is no law! Law says the same but there are no laws commanding and forcing you to do this!
Righteousness is the state of moral perfection required by God to enter Heaven.

However, the Bible clearly states that human beings cannot achieve righteousness through their own efforts because in any way God will fins our sins and punishment for sin is always DEATH according to His law: "Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin." (Romans 3:20).

The Jewish law and the Ten Commandments, show us how far we fall short of God's standards. The only solution to that dilemma is God's plan of salvation.
Morons, NOTE how God saves us:
(1) Through FAITH in the Son of God who is God like God the Father and our Creator!!!! Yes, the Son is our Creator!
(2) Through repentance of all our sins during conversation and our daily prayers.
(3) If we keep what God says not in the pocket but IMPLEMENTING His commands/laws during all days of our life to die for sins DAILY abandoning our sins and lovers to become HOLY sons of God. Many of Christians will be crushed by their sins as I explained this above.

So, we know now all THREE requirements required to keep salvation until the end to land safely in the Kingdom of God not being crushed by our sins.

Brothers,

God’s forgiveness and service to Him is the greatest honor.
But let me ask you this question:
Would God never send a Christian to hell?

The hell and the Lake o Fire is a place of eternal separation from God. Good people do not go to heaven but forgiven people do! There are thousand choices before death to believe in God Jesus or not. Before the Great white throne of God will be present everyone who rejected God Jesus or God’s offer of forgiveness through Jesus Christ. It is not sin issue, why you will go to hell, but Son Issue. May be you think if you do enough the good works you will go to heaven. It is not true. No one is good enough. You will be before the throne because you do not believe. The final confrontation of God during the Judgment Day clearly demonstrates why you are condemned. May be sophisticated recording equipment during this day will show what was written: everything is recorded…every idle word…. It is the final court of arbitration. The Court of Justice. I have an ability to choose to be in hell or OBEY God Jesus and God will not violate our rights. Hell is a chosen path to follow forever. God gives you a choice and it is up to us what to do with this choice.
Jesus said: DEPART FROM ME workers of iniquity.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you;
depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Matthew 7:21-29

It is not enough to go to church. Jesus will say I never knew you. It is your own choice you are facing. You are outside of the will of God because you are living in sins! You need to TURN from sins. There is hell and if you reject Jesus Christ you will go there. If you reject God Jesus by living a wicked life and life of sins then God will not accept you to His Kingdom! Do not deceive yourself!
If you know that you are going to hell, you better stop doing what God says to STOP doing!
You can appreciate the Good News if you will know the bad news.
So, what is the bad news?
You will go to hell when you will die.
If you will turn from sins and believe in God Jesus then you will change your eternal address to a place called Heaven from the place called hell.
People are literally headed to destruction but why should you be among them?

God Jesus said that some people will not inherit the Kingdom of God:
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery (Jesus said if you look at a woman with lust, you have committed adultery with her in your heart), fornication (illicit sexual intercourse), uncleanness, lasciviousness (sexually unchaste), idolatry (putting anything or anyone ahead of God), witchcraft (horoscopes, Ouija boards, tarot cards etc.), hatred (the Bible says if you hate your brother you are a murderer), variance (strife), emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:19-21).
Are you a Christian and guilty of any of these sins? Then I encourage you to repent of such things and stop doing them because they will send you to hell. Don’t be another one of the millions of ‘Christians’ in hell.

God Jesus said that some of us need the clothes of righteousness and start doing what God says:
“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

May be you just put other things ahead of God. May be you do not seek Him diligently. Do not love Him more than anyone or anything. Do not obey His Word. Have little or no desire to know Him intimately. Will you go to hell if you are lukewarm? Yes. What do you think your chances are of entering Heaven if God will no accept you such as you are? Does God need a business man in the Kingdom of God or the one who is faithful and loving son? Does God need terrorists in His Kingdom? To explode some of His planets? No need. He needs sons and His HOLY Inheritance.
Jesus states in Mark 11:26,
“But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
If your sins are not forgiven by God, then you will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Forgive and ask God to forgive your sins. What is the greatest sin? Disbelief. If you will not BELIEVE and DO what God said you will be in hell.
So, what does God say: LOVE people and LOVE God!
Desire of God is to SPREAD Good News about Him all over the world! We are doing it with Him too! He appreciates all your WISE words, and MOVEMENT of heart to talk to people to communicate His message of Love! Your MOTIVES will be REWARDED! Not the result is important for Him but YOUR HEART even if you just pray about people. Such prayers will be appreciated by Him the same way as preaching or any other service!
Which words do we need to communicate in our messages to people?
WORDS of God in the Bible.
How? With love.
Only Words? No. But our LOVE packed into our words! We communicate God’s LOVE to save them from hell because God’s desire is to COMMUNICATE His love to the dying world to save them from hell.
God’s purposes are our purposes.
Where can we do it? Everywhere. In home, family, shops, streets, among friends, drug dealers, in forums, everywhere where are people. How to do it? The same way as God’s is doing it! Coming closer to people and telling them the TRUTH about God and His Judgment of justice and righteousness.
Should we all to bring the Gospel? Yes, if we are alive spiritually. God’s light will shine in us and there is no way to hide this LIGHT. His LIGHT in us will be shining to everyone. Some of people will become antagonistic because they reject His light and truth. But we need to bring this LIGHT to the darkness of this dying world to enlighten the lives of people by His Truth and love for their salvation. It is the purpose of God and our purpose why we are living!
We are living to BRING the GLORY to our Father!


Summary: All believers in God Jesus are made for our God, kings and priests and always ought to conduct themselves as such! God clothed us with the WHITE garments of salvation. Our self-righteousness was like filthy rags. We are covered with the robe of Christ’s righteousness now. Love God more than anyone or anything. If you do this, He will unfold the perfect plan He has for your life which goes beyond anything you could formally think or imagine. God loves you and He wants you to spend eternity with Him in glory and not in destruction. If you are not a Christian yet then receive God’s free gift of eternal life through FAITH in Jesus Christ now. Repent of your sins. Confess them in a prayer to God. This prayer is a conversation with God. Tell Him everything. Judge yourself already now to avoid His Judgment Day. Begin fulfilling God’s glorious destiny for your life by OBEYING God’s words. By IMPLEMENTING of everything what you will daily read in the Bible. We don’t want to be among some of ‘Christians’ and unbelievers in hell. It is OUR DECISION to live 'with God or against Him' will put us to hell. No one enters hell unwillingly or unknowingly it. Why should we continue to live with sins and in sins in our lives? Let’s repent of them. Turn away from them. ABANDON them! Will You be One of the Few who will be saved?
Will you be a part of the SMALL REMNANT who will escape the hell fire and the Judgment Day?

God Jesus commands us to SEEK righteousness from God to be like God!

Why RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THE MAIN PILLAR/the CORE OF CHRISTIANITY and ONE OF THE MAIN COMMANDS OF GOD?

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.Titus 2:11-12
So, finally HOW to pursue RIGHTEOUSNESS to reach it?

Righteousness:
(1) is imputed to us if we believe in the Son of God as God.
(2) through REPENTANCE of all our sins and confession of sins to God in a prayer to ABANDON sins and lovers.
(3) through ACTS of faith: self control, love for people and God, compassion, mercy, doing what is right and justice, compassion...

No one who remains in Him (JESUS) keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has seen Him or known Him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you:
don't let anyone deceive you about this:
The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous. 8 The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the very start. This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.…

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to nor perform homosexual acts...

Our God Jesus does not allow to marry divorced people!

He says:

"It was said, 'WHOEVER SENDS HIS WIFE AWAY, LET HIM GIVE HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE'; 32 but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, EXCEPT for the reason of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. Matthew 5



He also says that sexual immoral people (who commit adultery and ANY sexual immorality) do NOT inherit the Kingdom of God! Revelation 20-22

If you will disobey our God Jesus then in this case it is a sexual immorality and He says in Revelation that sexual immoral people do NOT inherit the Kingdom of God!

Our God Jesus speaks:
(Mat. 19:9) "I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery."

What is "sexual immorality"? That is all sexual sins and "fornication" and "adultery".
Jesus said here in this verse above: Any divorce which is not sexual immorality is an adultery.

What to do if this sexual immoral person is you as our God Jesus called you?
(1) First you have to repent of this sin
(2) Return to your LEGAL wife whom you divorced illegally as God said and FIX the situation. If she is married then God Jesus forbids you to remarry!
Stay then single!

NOTE again: Any divorce which is not sexual immorality is an adultery!!
And punishment for sin is DEATH.
6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

"The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."

What you need:
(1) to keep your life from idolworship of dead people e.g. Mary/people/saints because idolworshipers do not inherit the Kingdom of God.
(2) to find a good local church with a sound teaching to join them
(3) to keep faith in the Son of God until the death.
(4) to live a holy life
Ok I will tell you what you should believe:

(1) Mary was a righteous lady. She is DEAD. Christians do NOT pray to people or even-more to DEAD people! Prayer is a conversation with God. DEAD people or average people they DO NOT hear prayers. Because prayer is a COMMUNICATION line like a mobile phone with God ONLY. DEAD people do NOT answer your calls!!! Because GOD is the ONLY Supreme Being having this mobile communication line!!! Because He is ALL-KNOWING. This means He knows EVERYTHING even our prayers before we utter them!
Prayers to dead people is like stupid prayers of Muslims to dead people...such prayers do NOT rise higher than a ceiling!

(2) Prayers to people or dead people or icons is MADNESS!!!!
There is NO madness in the God of Israel and Christianity. This madness was created by people only.

(3) You should REPENT of your sins ABANDONING THEM and confessing them in a prayer to God. If you will NOT stop committing them, you will die in sins and God will judge you for these sins like unbelievers no matter what is your name "a christian" or a sect leader.

(4) We can love our first love ALWAYS. But we cannot live in sins with those who are not legal for us. We should marry them according to the law of God or we should ABANDON what is wrong..them. There is no third option for us. BUT we can love our first love ALWAYS because Love NEVER stops.

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

It's hard to explain when someone's life has been cut short, dying at a relatively young age. We expected that person to live a much longer life. But who is to say that it wasn't his or her appointed time to go? Who is to say that it wasn't the exact length of life that God had preordained for that man or woman from the very beginning?

In the book of Acts, the apostle Paul says of King David, "Now when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors" (Acts 13:36). David, great a man as he may have been, served God's purpose in his own generation and then was taken off the scene.

That is why we want to make every day count. To paraphrase the words of Moses in Psalm 90:12, "Lord, help us to realize our lives can end on any day, so please show us how to use each day wisely."

We don't know when our day will come. We don't know when we will have "served God's purpose in our own generation." When God calls you home, you're going home! You can live on vitamin C, zinc, and echinacea. You can drink green tea, eat tofu, and avoid all the toxins you can, but when your number is up, your number is up.

On the other hand, you will be around until God is done with you. You won't go before your time. You may or may not be the healthiest person, but you will live to the time that God has appointed for you—and worrying about it won't extend your life for one moment.

At the same time, however, we aren't to take foolish risks and "put the Lord to the test." We can be assured that we are here until God is done with us. As the apostle Paul said, "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21). So let's make the most of the lives God has given us. As missionary Jim Elliot once wrote, "Wherever you are, be all there. Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God." Live to the hilt every situation and die everyday of your life!
Believers must die to sin, and live to God!

The apostle is very full in pressing the necessity of holiness like the God of Israel and His Son Jesus. God shows in the Holy Bible that connection between justification and holiness are inseparable. Let the thought be abhorred, of continuing in sin that grace may abound. True believers are dead to sin, therefore they ought not to follow it. No man can at the same time be both dead and alive. He is a fool who, desiring to be dead unto sin, thinks he may live in it.
(Ro 6:3-10)



Dead to Sin, Alive to God
6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? Paul could have a calm heart in the middle of the mother of all storms because he knew he was in the center of God's will for his life. He was on business for God.

In his prison cell back in Caesarea, Jesus Himself had stood by Paul and said, "Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome" (Acts 23:11). Then, in the middle of the storm out at sea, an angel stood by Paul with this message from God: "Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar" (Acts 27:24).

Bear witness at Rome . . . brought before Caesar . . .

Paul knew that God would get him to where he was supposed to be—at the right time, in the right place, and with whatever he needed to complete the job at hand. With these things in mind, Paul could even relax in the middle of a hurricane . . . just before a shipwreck. He knew he had heaven's business to transact in Rome, and he knew that God would get him through any difficulty along the way. He was walking in God's plan, and he could rest in the fact that it was God's responsibility to get him through—rough seas or not!

The same is true of our service to the King Jesus. He is our God and our Creator! No, we aren't assured of smooth sailing, and we're not promised immunity from shipwrecks (or viper bites!) along the way. But we are definitely assured of a safe arrival in the Kingdom of God if we WALK in righteousness[IMG] with God and live NOT in sins as unbelievers[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]!

Know this: As long as God has work for us to do here on earth, we will be here to do it. God will preserve us to do it. And when that work is done, it is done, and He'll bring us home to heaven—not a moment too soon and not a moment too late.

This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight[IMG], 19 keeping faith and a good conscience[IMG], which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck [IMG]in regard to their faith.

Who are the Righteous Children of God and the HOLY sons of God?

Where does the Holy Bible teach us that we should be holy as God is HOLY and righteous/godly people?

Let's consider a few Bible verses today (Romans 8):

QUESTION: Who are justified and forgiven of their sins?

ANSWER: Those who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. ( Romans 8:1).


What does it mean? How to walk according to the Spirit of God?

God sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh. Why? To justify us- who do NOT walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. ( Romans 8)

How to walk according to the Spirit of God?

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will DIE; but if by the Spirit YOU PUT to DEATH the DEEDS of the body, you will LIVE.

How?

We die daily for our sins to stop sinning to live with God walking according to the Spirit of God!

Why should we do it?

For as many as are LED by the Spirit of God, these are SONS of God.

We have to be BORN of God/sons of God if we WANT to see the Kingdom of God (John 3)!

God's people-Christians- are not only called His "portion," His "special treasure, but also His "inheritance."

This suggests that an "inheritance is obtained through DEATH: so God's inheritance is secured to Him through the death of His beloved Son.

An "inheritance" is for possession, it is something which is entered into, lived upon, enjoyed.

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance" (Psalm 33:12).

The "nation" here is identical with the holy nation i.e. Christians," the "chosen generation, royal priesthood, peculiar people" of 1 Peter 2:9. This favored people was chosen by God to be His inheritance.

Just as a man who has inherited a house or an estate takes possession of it and then makes improvements, so God is now fitting His people -believers- for Himself. He who has begun a good work within His own is now performing it until the day of Jesus Christ (RETURN of the Son of God) (Phil. 1:6). He is now conforming us to the image of His Son. "The Lord will perfect that which concerns me" (Psalm 138:8). Nor will God be satisfied until we have been glorified. The Lord Jesus Christ "shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body!" (Phil. 3:21) "When he (the SON of GOD) shall appear—we shall be like Him!" (I John 3:2)

Martha was never one to hold her tongue. You always knew where you stood with this lady! "Lord," she said, "if You would have been here, my brother would not have died." To paraphrase it, "Where were You anyway, Jesus?"
Maybe you've said something similar during or after some crisis in your life.
Lord, where were You when my parents divorced?
Lord, where were You when we got that diagnosis of cancer?
Lord, where were You when our marriage fell apart?

Lord, where were You when my child got into trouble?

Please notice that Jesus didn't reprove Martha for what she said. It isn't wrong to tell God exactly how you feel. I think we sometimes get the idea that it's irreverent or sinful to express our real fears or the doubts of our heart, even to God. When we read the psalms, we learn there were many times when David and the other psalmists really "let their hair down" with God. They cried out to Him and emptied the contents of their hearts in His presence.
I have done this many times. In my pain, I will cry out to God. Sometimes the reality that my son is gone hits my heart like a sledgehammer, and I say, "Oh, God. I can't believe this! I can't handle this pain!" But then I will preach to myself, and I'll say, "Now Greg, listen to me. Your son is alive — more alive than he has ever been before. He's in the presence of the Lord, and you are going to see him again in just a few years." And I will remind myself of the promises of God.
My prayers, however, are wide open and honest. I pour out my heart before God, describing my pain to Him. But I also remind myself of God's truth. And that is what prayer is.
God wants us to cry out to Him. He invites us to pour out our hearts before Him. David writes, "Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge" (Psalm 62:8, NIV).

Everything is looking great when, all of a sudden, a storm cloud appears. Something horrible happens. That is why the Bible tells us, "Establish your hearts" (James 5:8). Another way to translate this verse is, "Strengthen and make firm your inner life." [IMG]The same word is used to describe Jesus' attitudes and actions when He headed for Jerusalem, knowing what awaited Him there: "Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem" (Luke 9:51). Jesus, being God, had full knowledge of all that was about to unfold, yet He resolutely set out for Jerusalem. That is the same meaning behind the word establish in James 5:8.
God wants us to be rooted and grounded, yet many Christians aren't. They have not taken the time to develop the habit of personal Bible study or the discipline of prayer or SELF-CONTROL or even regular church attendance. But God is saying we need to get rooted because our faith will be challenged. We will face hardship. And a storm can come, just when we're least expecting it.

It is clear from the verses above that the word “gods” refers to magistrates, judges, and other people who hold positions of authority and rule.
Calling a human magistrate a “god” indicates three things: 1) he has authority over other human beings

If we will live in sins then God does not live with us.

What is the result of such sins/life style? Sexual immoral people do NOT inherit the Kingdom of God, unbelievers/in-the name-only believers too.



That is why it is OUR responsibility to COOPERATE with God and ABANDON our sins in repentance to live with God...

Everyone who has run a race knows that you can break your stride by looking over your shoulder to check out how your opponents are doing. Many races have been lost when the leader looked back. When you see that finish line, that is the time to give it everything you've got . . . because sometimes it's mere inches that separate one runner from another. You must stay focused. This is the idea behind Paul's statement in Philippians 3:13. The apostle was saying, "Don't look back. Don't look behind you." When God promises, "I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins" (Isaiah 43:25), He isn't predicting a lapse in His memory. God is saying, "I will no longer hold your sin against you, because my Son has paid for it on the cross." In the same way, then, we need to do what God does: forget our past. Yes, we certainly need to learn from our mistakes and remember some of the bitter lessons we've learned. But we no longer need to be controlled by our past. That's what Paul meant by "forgetting what is behind." Think about the horrible things Paul had done. So are you a self-righteous moralist? Hear what God says you thinking that no one knows anything about Jesus the Christ but you... how silly can that thought be?... Therefore,YOU, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

But because of your stubbornness and your UNREPENTANT HEART , you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, GOD will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism.

All who sin apart from the law (gospel) will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law (gospel) who will be declared righteous. (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law (gospel), do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) Let God be true, and every human being a liar... for God will judge the saint and the sinner. What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

For we will ALL stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

When you lay your all on the altar before God , this means to come before God in humility in your prayers and tell Him you are sorry for ALL your sins... this does not mean you try to remember every sins you have ever committed in your life... God already knows those and He keeps great records...

Repentance of your sins means acknowledge before God in your prayer that you are a sinner, and ask Him to forgive you of those sins you know about that are holding you in bondage...Why? To ABANDON these sins!

Repentance: A Condition Necessary to Salvation from Sin

What is the meaning of repentance? How important is it in our salvation from sin? Is it the same as godly sorrow? Must we admit or acknowledge our sins to be forgiven? What other conditions must we meet to be saved? What about faith and baptism? Should Christians ever repent or is it just for alien sinners? What are the fruits of repentance? What is restitution, and how important is it? Have you repented of your sins?

Introduction: Repentance is a fundamental part of God's requirements of man

Jeremiah 25:4,5 - A typical summary of the message of the Old Testament prophets: "Repent now everyone of his evil way and his evil doing..." [35:15; Ezekiel 18:30; 2 Kings 17:13]

Matthew 3:2 - John the Baptist taught, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!"

Mark 1:15 - Mark's summary of Jesus' message includes: "Repent, and believe in the gospel."

Luke 13:3 - Unless you repent you will all likewise perish.

Mark 6:12 - Jesus sent the apostles to preach that people should repent.

Acts 2:38 - In the first gospel sermon, Peter preached, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you for the remission of sins..."

Acts 17:30 - God commands all men everywhere to repent.

Revelation 3:19 - "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent."

All who study the Bible agree that repentance is fundamental to Bible teaching. The purpose of this lesson is to study what the Bible says about repentance. Despite the frequent Bible references to repentance, many people misunderstand it and still more neglect it. Many people commit immorality, indifference, mistreatment of others, or doctrinal error, yet never truly repent.

What is repentance and why is it important? What does repentance require us to do?

Note that people who are not Christians need to repent, but so do Christians when we sin. This is a lesson needed by everyone.

I. The Meaning of Repentance - What Does Repentance Mean?

A. A Change of Mind

The basic message of the gospel is change. To be forgiven of sins, you need to change. To please God you need to change. To receive eternal life you need to change. This emphasis on change is focused in the word "repent."

"Repentance" - "a change of mind: as it appears in one who repents of a purpose he has formed or of something he has done ... esp. the change of mind of those who have begun to abhor their errors and misdeeds, and have determined to enter upon a better course of life, so that it embraces both a recognition of sin and sorrow for it and hearty amendment, the tokens and effects of which are good deeds ..." - Grimm-Wilke-Thayer.

Repentance is "a change of mind" - a decision, a choice, a determination of the heart, a deliberate exercise of the will - in which one determines to act differently in the future than he has in the past.

B. Examples of Repentance

Jonah 3:4-10 - When Jonah preached, the people of Nineveh gave heed, were sorry, and turned from their evil ways (vv 8,10). "Turn" and "return" are common Old Testament words meaning "repent." Jesus said these people "repented" at the preaching of Jonah (Matthew 12:41).

Matthew 21:28-32 - A son refused to work for his father, but later repented (regretted it - NKJV) and went. He "changed his mind." Jesus applied this to sinners who repented at John's preaching in contrast to priests would not repent (relent - NKJV).

C. Repentance from Sin

The change of mind required by the gospel is repentance of sin. This involves changing ones mind about sin - making up ones mind to cease practicing sin and to become obedient to God.

Luke 24:47 - Those who are not God's children should be taught the need for repentance and remission of sin. What they need remission of is what they need to repent of: sin! [2 Tim. 2:25,26; Matt. 9:13]

Acts 8:22 - Likewise, Christians who sin need to be taught to repent of their wickedness. [Luke 15:7,10; 17:3,4; 2 Cor. 12:21]

Repentance is a decision to cease sinning and begin serving God instead.

[Ezekiel 14:6; Deuteronomy 30:2,8,10; Jeremiah 8:4-6; 3:7,10-14; 25:3-7; 36:3,7; 2 Kings 17:13; Zechariah 1:3,4; 2 Chronicles 30:6-9; 1 Samuel 7:3,4; Revelation 2:5. Like hearing, faith, obedience, etc., repentance may refer to a specific decision to obey or may generally include all that a person does to be saved.]

II. Things That Must Precede Repentance

Before people can truly repent, certain other things must occur first. Sometimes people misunderstand or fail to practice repentance because they misunderstand or fail to practice the things that must precede it.

A. One Must Hear and Believe God's Will.

Learning and believing is necessary in order to inform men that they need to repent and to motivate them to do so.

Remember that prophets, apostles, and Jesus all preached and taught repentance (see introduction). Teaching is necessary to lead one to repent.

Luke 24:47 - Jesus commanded repentance and remission to be preached to all men. Men cannot know they need to repent unless they are told to repent.

2 Kings 17:13 - God repeatedly sent prophets to warn the people to repent. Every Old Testament prophet you can name preached this way.

Today people sometimes tire of hearing preachers rebuke sin. But read the prophets! This is God's plan. His way to lead men to leave sin is to warn them to repent.

2 Timothy 2:25,26 - Correct those who are in error hoping they will come to repentance and escape the snare of the devil. No one will ever change until he realizes he is wrong and sees the consequence of his error. To convince people they are wrong we must show them the evidence in God's word.

Romans 2:4,5 - Failure to repent treasures up wrath at the day of God's judgment of mankind. When people are in sin, telling them to repent is not unkind or cruel. It is an act of love, because only in this way can they correct their lives and receive eternal life.

The message that leads men to repent must be God's word.

Ezekiel 13:22 - False prophets encourage people to continue in sin by not telling them that they need to turn (repent) from their wicked ways. When people sin, faithful preachers must not let them continue thinking they are acceptable before God. If we do not rebuke them, they may be lost.

Ezekiel 33:7-9,14-16 - If preachers do not warn people of their sins, and the people are lost, God will also hold the preachers accountable. Some cannot bring themselves to tell folks they are wrong, so they compromise the truth. God will hold them accountable for the lost souls that result.

People in sin need to hear exactly what God's word says. To withhold the truth does not do anyone a favor.

B. One Must Acknowledge Sin.

When honest people hear the truth preached, they see the application and are convicted of sin.

Psalm 38:18 - I will declare my iniquity. We must admit it as a fact.

Proverbs 28:13 - One who covers his sins will not prosper. In order to have mercy, he must confess and forsake it.

Malachi 3:7 - When confronted about their sins, some people refuse to admit guilt. They ask, "What sin? What do I have to repent of?"

Before one will change his life, he must decide to change (repent). Before he decides to change, he must recognize that he has been guilty. As long as a person defends his practice and refuses to admit error, he has not repented.

C. One Must Be Sorry for His Sins.

Simply admitting one has sinned is not enough. Some people know they have sinned but don't care, or at least don't really regret what they did.

Psalm 38:18 - I will declare my iniquity and be in anguish for my sin.

Joel 2:12,13 - Turn to God (repent) with weeping and mourning. Tear your heart, not your garment. God wants, not mere outward expressions of grief, but sincere sorrow. We must sincerely wish we had never done the act.

2 Corinthians 7:10 - Godly sorrow leads to repentance unto salvation. One who does not repent cannot be saved, and he cannot truly repent without sorrow.

James 4:8,9 - Sinners must mourn and weep.

A person may admit he did wrong and may even stop committing the sin, but that does not prove he regrets what he did. He may think it was justified under the circumstances, but he simply has no reason to do it again.

For example, a couple may live together without marriage then get married; they are no longer committing fornication, but that does not prove they regret the fornication committed before marriage.

To be saved one must Scripturally repent. But He will never truly repent until he knows and admits he was wrong and is truly sorry.

III. The Importance of Repentance

It is also possible for a person to know he is wrong and be sorry without really making up his mind to change. Some people have the idea that repentance just means being sorry - if they just admit they were wrong and say they are sorry, everything is forgiven.

But repentance is a decision to change. Why is this important?

A. Repentance Is Essential in Order to Develop Proper Attitudes. We can never please God till we develop a proper state of mind.

Proverbs 4:23 - Keep your heart diligently because out of it are the issues of life. People do wrong because they chose to do wrong. In order to start doing right, they must change their mind and decide to do right - repent.

The mind is where we decide what we will do. This is why our state of mind is so important.

Romans 6:17,18 - One who is a servant of sin needs to be made free from sin and become a servant of righteousness. To do this, he must obey God "from the heart." You cannot obey from the heart until you have decided in your heart to obey. That decision to do right is repentance.

Joel 2:12,13 - Repentance must involve the heart - the inner man. We can never please God till we get our heart right. That happens in repentance. When people know what God wants but will not do it, they lack repentance. (They may also lack faith, love, etc., but one thing they definitely lack is repentance.) [1 Kings 8:33-36,46-50; 2 Chronicles 6:24-39; 7:14; Ezekiel 18:31; Jeremiah 24:7; 2 Kings 23:25; 1 Samuel 7:3,4]

B. Repentance Is Essential in order to Receive God's Forgiveness. 2 Peter 3:9 - God is not willing for men to perish but wants all to come to repentance. The alternative to repentance is perishing! [Luke 13:3,5]

Acts 2:38 - Repent and be baptized for remission of sins.

Ezekiel 18:21-23,27,28,30-32 - Wicked men must turn from evil and do right or they will die (spiritually). God does not want us to die. He is willing to forgive, but first we must be willing to change. Before we can change, we must decide to change - that is repentance.

The gospel emphasizes repentance because repentance is essential to changing our attitudes and our life. Until we are willing to change our lives, God is not willing to forgive our sins!

If you have sinned, you must admit the sin and be sorry. Then you must make up your mind to change. Have you done so, or are you just expecting everything to be forgotten because you said you were sorry? Forgiveness comes only after a decision to change! [Ezekiel 33:10-19; 2 Timothy 2:25,26; Romans 2:4,5; Acts 3:19; 8:22; 5:31; 17:30,31; Revelation 2:5,16,21-23; Luke 3:8,9; 24:47; 2 Corinthians 7:10; 1 Kings 8:46-50; 2 Chronicles 6:24-29; 7:14; Joel 2:12-14; Jeremiah 36:3,7; Isaiah 55:7; Matthew 11:20-24; 21:28-32]

III. Things That Must Follow Repentance - Some think it is enough just to decide to change. That constitutes repentance, but something more must follow the repentance.

A. After Repentance, One Must Meet Other Conditions of Forgiveness

What the conditions are depends on whether one has or has not been baptized.

After repenting, one who is not a child of God must be baptized. Acts 2:38 - Repent and be baptized for the remission of sins. Some people do not realize that the Bible teaches baptism is essential. Other people have been shown but still will not accept it. These people are not showing true repentance!

Remember, repentance is a decision to do what God's word says. When a person sees what God's word says but will not do it, that person is not showing true repentance.

When a person refuses to be baptized, his primary problem is not baptism: it is his faith or his repentance! If believes the truth he will know he must repent and be baptized. If he then truly repents, you won't be able to keep him from the water!

[Mark 16:15,16; Acts 2:38; 22:16; Romans 6:3,4; Galatians 3:27; 1 Peter 3:21]

A Child of God who sins must pray for forgiveness.

Sometimes children of God sin after they have been baptized. They do not need to be baptized again, but they do need to repent again.

Acts 8:22 - Simon was told to repent and pray that his sin might be forgiven. The Christian who sins needs to repent and pray, not repent and be baptized. [1 John 1:9; Matthew 6:12]

If one has wronged other people, he must also confess to them - Matthew 5:23,24. If the sin is known and has been a bad influence on the congregation or hindered the effort of the church to teach, then the whole church needs to be told the person has repented. [Luke 17:3,4; 15:18,21; Genesis 50:17; James 5:16; Proverbs 28:13; study passages on influence and reputation]

B. Then One Must Change His Conduct - Quit Practicing Sin.

Repentance is a decision to change. After receiving forgiveness, one must follow through and make the changes he decided to make.

Scriptures

Acts 26:20 - After forgiveness men must do works worthy of repentance. [Luke 3:8-14; Matthew 3:8] Ezekiel 18:21-32 - To avoid death, the wicked must turn from evil and do right and keep God's statutes.

Matthew 21:28-31 - The ultimate question, in the story of the two sons, was which of the two did the will of the father. The son who was right was the one who eventually went and did what he was supposed to do.

Proverbs 28:13 - We prosper, not by hiding our sins, but by confessing and forsaking them.

Applications

This is where many members of the church fail. They profess that they want forgiveness, then are baptized or pray for forgiveness, but never follow through and change. They want forgiveness but not change.

There is a difference between repentance and the fruits of repentance. Sometimes people go through the motions of baptism (or public confession), but do not truly repent. These people will never truly be forgiven until they first truly repent.

Other people really did repent and intended to change their lives, but never followed through. These people may have been forgiven the first time but now are back in sin. They need to repent again and this time produce the fruits of repentance. [Genesis 44 cf. Genesis 37; Luke 13:5-9; 15:19; Ezekiel 33:10-19; Revelation 2:5; Deuteronomy 30:2; 2 Kings 17:13; Jonah 3:8,10; Isaiah 55:7; Jeremiah 4:1; 18:8,11; 44:4,5; 25:3-7; 35:15; 2 Chronicles 30:6-9; 1 Samuel 7:3,4]

C. Then One Must Make Restitution.

The fruits of repentance require more than just deciding to do right "next time" or to "never do that again." To the extent possible we must attempt to go back and correct the harmful effects of our sins on other people.

Ezekiel 33:14,15 - One who was wicked must not only walk in the statutes, but also return what he stole. [Exodus 22:1-15; Leviticus 6:1-5; Numbers 5:5-8; 2 Samuel 12:6]

Ezra 10:3,11,17,19,44 - When Israelite men had married foreign women, contrary to God's law, they had to repent and put away the wives. This is what repentance requires today when people are living in adultery because of unscriptural divorce and remarriage [9:1-10:44; Matt. 19:9]

Luke 19:8 - Zacchaeus had been a publican. When he was converted, he determined to return the taxes charged wrongfully.

This can be a difficult principle to apply because sometimes the effect of a sin cannot be undone (for example, murder). But it is a Bible principle and must be accomplished to the extent possible. [Philem. 10-14,18,19; Matthew 21:28-31; Nehemiah 5:11-13; 2 Corinthians 7:9-11; Genesis 20:1-14; 1 Samuel 12:3; Proverbs 6:31; Acts 16:33; 26:20; 19:18,19]

Conclusion - Luke 15:17-24 - The story of the prodigal son illustrates all the principles we have studied. The younger son wasted his inheritance in riotous living (vv 13,30). He came to be in need and "came to himself" (vv 14-17). [The story does not use the word "repent," but the parallel stories do in vv 7,10.]

* He acknowledged his error: "I have sinned" (v18).

* His sorrow was implied by the fact he no longer believed himself worthy to be called a son (v19).

* He then decided to go back to the father (vv 18,19). This decision is repentance. (Cf. vv 7,10)

* He met the conditions of forgiveness by confessing his sin to the father (vv 20,21).

* He left the practice of sin (vv 20,21).

* He offered to make restitution by being just a servant of the father, not even a son any longer (vv 19,21).

The gospel is a message of change. Sinners can change. You can change. Note the attitude of the father when the son did return: vv 20,22-24. Truly there is joy in heaven among the angels when a sinner "repents" (vv 7,10).
