European Muslim now ‘disappeared’ for around a Decade

His Wife’s Comments on the Tragedy

It is now around ten years ago a muslim with a European passport has been ‘disappeared’. A man who wrote a book that has reportedly (reported by disbelievers) been referred to by the U.S. Joint Forces Command as a ‘masterwork’. Pay attention to this dramatic account…

Bounty for a ’Masterwork’ Author

Four years ago an interview was held with Helena Moreno, the wife of ‘disappeared’ Abu Mus’ab al-Suri. Her husband - father of four - was born in Aleppo in 1958 and is the author of ‘The Call for a Global Islamic Resistance’, reportedly referred to by the U.S. Joint Forces Command as a ‘masterwork’. ‘On November 18, 2004, the U.S. Department of State offered a bounty of $5 million US for information concerning his location.’

‘He was subsequently captured in Pakistan in 2005 and handed over to US authorities’, reads the article. He was ‘handed over to US authorities’ and was believed to be ‘held in secret detention in the British island of Diego Garcia before being rendered to the Middle East’. Investigations by Cageprioners had ‘traced Abu Mus’ab’s location back to a secret prison in Syria’.

‘When Daddy comes back he will still put me on his shoulders’

She ‘last heard from him in May 2005’ and ‘the children have been without their father for more than half their lives’. They ‘miss their father a lot’. She mentions how ‘the youngest still remembers how her daddy used to put her on his shoulders and play with her’ and ‘often says when - never if - daddy comes back he will still put me on his shoulders’. ‘When the children used to ask where is daddy I would say he is a writer and some people do not like what he has written.’

‘The only European’

‘He is the only European that I have heard of who is ‘disappeared’. ‘My husband’s name has been in the shadows but when ordinary people hear about his story they all ask the same thing: How on earth can someone disappear like this’, she tells. Her Spanish father ‘cannot understand how in the 21st century a man can just disappear without any information at all’. ‘Someone has taken him and someone must know where he is and if he is still alive’, Moreno points out.

 The ones responsible

She wonders about the ones responsible if they ‘can sleep at night’. ‘What sort of a spirit and soul do you have? When you kiss your children at night think about those children of the ‘disappeared’.’

When speaking about the likes of her husband she states that ’we are going to be asked, all of us, what we have done for those people’ which reminds us of the statement of our beloved Prophet (): ‘Free the captives, feed the hungry and pay a visit to the sick’. ‘This injustice is being done to all of us’, Morena states, referring to our ummah.

‘Say alhamdulilah’

Although she describes the impact on her family as ‘devastating’, she advises sisters in a similar situation to ’just say al-hamdullilah from the deepest of your heart because not everyone has been blessed with this exam or test’. ‘I am sure I will learn someday what the good things are. This has made me a stronger person and I’ve learned how to accept Allah’s will.’ – Dhul Hijja 1435
