BRAZILIAN WAX FOR THE FIRST TIME

Brazilian Waxing is a Brazilian bikini Wax technique that involves the removal of pubic hair from the bikini area, pubic areas or pelvic region, vulva, labia, perineum, and anus, with the mons pubis often left with a thin strip of hair. Brazilian waxing is favored by bikini thong-wearing women over other waxing techniques such as American waxing and French waxing. J. Sisters was the first to introduce Brazilian Waxing in 1987.

Preparation tips for your first Brazilian Wax

When a client comes in for their first Brazilian wax, they always inquire, “Will it hurt?” I still take a moment to consider before saying, "Yes." Yes, it definitely will.”

The reality is that any operation that removes hair from the follicle can cause discomfort. There is, however, a silver lining: as you wax regularly, the hairs become easier to remove each time.

Usually, the first Brazilian service involves dealing with deeply entrenched hairs, but they come out much more quickly while they are only growing back 4–6 weeks later. Furthermore, the average hair density decreases significantly over time. This also tends to make the operation less painful over time.

Here are four ideas for getting ready for your Brazilian wax:

Ibuprofen should be taken about 20 minutes before your meeting.

Dress in loose-fitting garments.

Consider investing in a new pair of underwear for afterward.

The most significant rule is to not shave for at least two weeks before the case. If you've just shaved, the hair will either be too short for the wax to grip or will be growing back unevenly, resulting in some hairs not being ready when others are. You will most certainly be less pleased with the results at the end of the service, which is something we do not want.

The subject of post-care will be discussed in our next issue. If you get your first Brazilian before then, be sure to ask your esthetician what you should do afterward.
