THE DALSON PARK STORY
Dalson Park is Brisbane’s premier riding school, close to Brisbane, Logan, and the Gold Coast. With quality coaches and educated horses teaching all levels to ride correctly and safety from the beginning, Dalson Park is the “go to” destination to learn to ride or hone your riding skills. Many adults who learned to ride as children at Dalson Park, now bring their family to learn to ride here too. If quality is what you are after, this is the riding school for you and your family.
Dalson Park coaches collectively have over 120′ years riding and equine experience. Dalson Park is the longest running riding school in Brisbane and has been operating as a riding school for over 38 years. Todd and Robyn bought the centre in 2000.

Dalson Park has Day Holiday camps for children and teens, covering all aspects of horse care and management. Dalson Park also offers frequent gymkhanas, dressage days, and adult social activities.

Todd McDonald has been riding since 8 years of age. He has competed extensively in show jumping and later in dressage, having competed up to Prix St George level. Todd’s riding experience includes having trained overseas in the USA and South Africa.
Todd has been a full time coach for over 18 years and has coached children through to nationally competitive riders.
Todd is great coach if you are looking to expand your knowledge and would love a coach that teaches from a positive point of view and has the ability to get the best out of you and your horse.
Robyn McDonald has been coaching at Dalson Park for over 10 years and has a deep love of horses that she enjoys passing on to her students. She came late to riding, starting in her 20s, and enjoyed the dressage side of riding the most.
Robyn understands the challenges and confidence issues that can arise in a riding environment and believes in building confidence and skills gently.
Robyn achieves great success with riders that need to rebuild their ability and skills, and who are coming back to riding or starting for the first time.
CHILDREN’S GROUP LESSONS
Children’s Group Lessons are one hour in length. They are coached by one of our experienced coaches and there are between 2 and 6 children in each lesson. Lessons are all graded to suit the your child’s ability and designed for consistent progression and learning. The coaching is specifically designed for how children learn. A great way for your child to make new friends and have lots of fun.
- 1–3 Group Lessons — $90.00 each
- 4–8 Group Lessons — $65.00 each
- 9+ Group Lessons — $60.00 each
ADULT GROUP LESSONS
Adult Group Lessons are one hour in length and have between 2 to 6 riders per lesson. They are coached by one of our experienced coaches and are graded to suit the your ability and designed for consistent progression and learning. Our group lessons provide a great social environment with lots of laughs and learning, and our coaching is designed to develop your theory knowledge as well as riding skill.
- 1–3 Group Lessons — $90.00 each
- 4–8 Group Lessons — $65.00 each
- 9+ Group Lessons — $60.00 each
INTERMEDIATE ASSESSMENT LESSONS
Intermediate Assessment Lessons are for perfect for adults or young riders when you have ridden before and are looking to move into group lessons. It is a private one on one lesson with one of our coaches. During the Assessment Lesson, the coach will check your knowledge and skill to establish which groups will be most suitable for the you.
- One-On-One — $80.00 per lesson
BEGINNER ASSESSMENT LESSONS
Beginner Assessment Lessons are for children over 9 years and adults that have never ridden before looking to move into group lessons. The lesson is 45 minutes long and is one on one with a coach. You will learn to mount, dismount, and to control your horse in walk and trot.At the end of the lesson, the coach will be able to suggest a group environment that suits your abilities or discuss options for further private lessons.
- One-On-One — $80.00 per lesson
SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS
Semi-Private Lessons are one hour in length for 2 riders. They are with one of our experienced coaches. Lessons are designed around your skill level and what you want to focus on. A great way for couples and friends to learn together. Available times are below, however bookings are essential.
- Coach (60 mins) — $190.00 per lesson
PONY LESSONS
Pony Lessons are for the beginner rider from 4 to 9 years old. They are a private one on one lesson with the coach and are 30 minutes in length. They are designed for your child to progress at their own rate, developing skill and confidence, safely. The aim of Pony Lessons is for your child to learn the necessary skills for them to move into a group environment with other young children.
- Weekly Price — $50.00 per lesson
- Casual Price — $65.00 per lesson
