Steve attended Dallas Theological Seminary from 1974 to 1979. He completed with a Masters of Theology degree, majoring in Old Dallas Andrew Baxter Testament and Hebrew.

Steve has been in the real estate market in and around Dallas ever since 1977. Steve is the owner of Oakwood Property Company. Steve acquired his real estate Broker’s License in 1978. He acquired his first 4 plex in 1979 for $42,000 with a fellow seminary student. This is where he started to learn how to be the general contractor and rehabilitate property.

Steve accomplished the majority of the rehab by himself and began to learn the remodeling business over the next year. He sold the 4-Plex 18 months later for about $85,000. That's when he decided that he loved this real estate business.

As a junior on the basketball team, Andrew Baxter knew he was

not going to play much at all so he resolved that he wanted to be the best teammate on the basketball bench. He did this by encouraging the whole bench to overwhelmingly support the players and be cheerleaders for them. He encouraged all the bench to "go crazy" for the players on the court. It made a big difference in the team and most likely helped the fact that the basketball team made it to the basketball playoffs for the first time in many years.

Having fond recollections of his own high school times certainly gives Steve vicarious satisfaction in seeing Andrew do so well.

Andrew Baxter enjoys the new challenges of college academics. He loves meeting class mates from all over Texas and other states. But most of all he loves the Christian fellowship of being part of “BUCS” – Brothers Under Christ - a unique organization of Christians at Texas Tech who want to enlarge their faith as they progress through university.

Andrew is appreciative for the successes of high school, appreciative of his popularity socially and accomplishments athletically. But he would be the first to say that those accomplishments are nothing in comparison to the privilege of knowing Christ and living for Him.
