Pain Conditions | Treatment Of Pain Using Chinese Medicine

Pain is the most common reason people come to me for Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture. The beauty of Chinese medicine is that it is often able to address the underlying causes of Pain Conditions while relieving the pain itself. Whether you suffer from acute or chronic pain, Chinese medicine is a safe and effective way to help you live a pain-free life of health and vitality.

There are many types of pain that I routinely treat. These include:

- Lower back pain

- Headaches and migraines

- Tennis and golfer's elbow

- Pain associated with menstruation

- Shoulder, knee and other joint pain

- abdominal pain

- Pain related to the function of internal organs, such as stomach or kidney pain

- Mental-emotional pain, such as anxiety or depression. (For more details on these conditions, see the page on mental-emotional conditions).

How do I treat pain with Chinese medicine? As with any condition, I look at many aspects of your life, including internal organ function, sleep and exercise patterns, diet, stress levels, health history, and any symptoms you have. I almost never look only at the pain itself, as the chances of lasting resolution and deep healing are much better when I take everything into account. Unless it is an acute and simple condition, such as a sprained ankle, it is best to look at your condition holistically, as very often factors such as diet and stress also contribute to your symptoms and appearance.

Chinese medicine to heal the gut

Are you struggling with Digestive Disorders issues that you can't get to the bottom of? Have you been diagnosed with something like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or told that you need to take strong steroids to treat your inflammatory bowel disease like colitis or Crohn's disease? Do you struggle with abdominal pain, acid reflux, chronic loose stools or habitual constipation? If so, consider Chinese herbal medicine as a treatment option. With these and other remedies, I can very often help my patients heal their digestive system, regulate their bowels, and live their lives with more energy, well-being, and vitality.

Are you struggling with an autoimmune disease? If so, consider Chinese medicine, acupuncture and herbal medicine as treatment options. Treating autoimmune diseases can often be frustrating, but I consistently see good results when using Chinese medicine remedies.

Autoimmunity is when the body's immune system attacks the healthy tissues of its own body because it loses the ability to distinguish between its own cells and those of invaders. Approximately 1 in 15 Canadians suffers from Autoimmune Disorders disease, and this number has been increasing since the 1980s. Studies have shown that many challenges of modern life can trigger these diseases, including stress, lack of exercise, poor diet, food allergies and sensitivities, lack of sleep, and sleep. I don't know about you, but when I look around, I don't see many of us who aren't affected by at least one, but usually several, of these factors.
