9/20/19: Tonight, a WCJB (TV20) report implied that our local tapwater could contain cancer causing agents.

The report referenced a peer reviewed study, "Cumulative risk analysis of carcinogenic contaminants in United States drinking water"

A comprehensive USA Today article can be found (here)

I located a Gainesville Sun article from August 28, 2017 titled "Site lets residents check on water quality".

The EWG Environmental Work Group (EWG) instructs the user to type in their zipcode to receive a water quality report.  The link that worked for me is: https://www.ewg.org/tapwater/

When you enter your zipcode, the system will list about 15 different utilities within Alachua County with GRU supplying the largest number of ratepayers.

There is little doubt that GRU and over a dozen Alachua County utilities and the AC health department will be compelled to respond to the implications of the study.

A comment on the Gainesville "Next Door" social media platform raised questions about how GRU services tapwater complaints (Link)
