Brighteon Policy on Video Resolution Rendering

Hi Harold,

Currently, the highest resolution that the platform offers is 720p and we hope to host higher resolution in the future.
The quality of the video that will be published will also depend on the file size since we have to maximize the storage capacity as well.

There are a few parameters that the system follows but to get the resolution you want then you can take note of the following:
Please note that these are approximate but closer to what is being considered by the system.

If a video is greater than 250 MB and video height is greater or equal to 540p then it will be converted and can be watched at 270p  and 540p.
If a video is less than 250 MB and video height is greater or equal to 720p then it will be converted and can be watched at 270p, 540p and 720p.
If a video is less than 250 MB and video height is greater or equal to 540p but less than 720p then convert to 270p  and 540p.
If a video height is less than 540p then it will convert to 270 only.

Thanks,
Glenn Burton

To Brighteon Support

I'm discovering that many HD quality video uploads are reduced in  resolution to much less than HD quality.  The lost resolution diminishes the value of these videos as forensic specimens.

Is there a way to upload HD quality videos so that they remain HD  quality for the Brighteon audience?
