- Find an online fax service: there are many online fax services available on the internet. It is simply a matter of undertaking a quick Google search. Try to avoid the free services if you are sending sensitive information, as they may not offer the same level of security as a paid service. Fax services are relatively inexpensive, a single fax can cost as little as £0.07 to send.
- Register: you will need to register for the service. This entails providing your name, email address and payment details. This is sensitive information, so make sure that you have chosen a reputable company that will look after your data.
- Follow the instructions: the online fax services will tell you what you need to do. Normally, you will need to:
- Open your email programme as normal
- Type in the fax number to which you want to send the fax with the plus sign and the international code beforehand, e.g. +442380542153
- Type @nameofserviceyouareusing (or the name they tell you to append) after the fax number. For example, +442380542153@nameofserviceyouareusing.
- Attach the file that you want to send as a fax
- Hit send
- If you have set it up, you will receive a notification that the recipient has received the email.
