Pro-People Engineering Manifesto


Whereas corporate power is abused to:

1. gut the integrity of our engineering work;

2. force a dichotomy between an engineer's basic integrity and his making his living;

3. replace self-respecting talent with ethically and morally pliable mediocrity...

...and whereas social coercion is used to:

4. stifle our dissenting speech and ideas;

5. turn engineers against one another and their own personal values system...

...and whereas generally:

7. requests to recognize or remedy these problems have been met with further abuse;

6. the above creates inhumane work environments populated by unhappy, unfulfilled, and unsettled peoples...

...we therefore declare that we do not support such ill-treatment, and will work to support or build parallel institutions.
