Three must Have’s in a vacuum cleaner for pet hair

If you have a pet with fur, such as dogs or cat, you will agree with me that cleaning after them can be quite challenging. It is therefore important to have a cleaner that will help you get rid of the furs especially the ones that spreads on the carpet, the floor and the stairway. However, you should always remember that not all vacuum cleaners are designed for animal furs, and not all cleaners are effective in removing pet hair. Here are some things to consider before purchasing a vacuum cleaner for pet hair.

Suction Power

The first thing to look out for when buying a vacuum cleaner for cleaning animal furs is its suction power. This is probably the most essential feature that a vacuum cleaner needs to have to be an effective machine in a home that has animal occupants. In addition to strong suction power, should have a special technology that enhances its cleaning capabilities. For example, the cyclone system technology which is found in most Dyson brands helps in increasing its effectiveness.

Powerful airflow

An effective pet hair cleaning machine should not only have a powerful suction machine but also a powerful airflow. Suction power is actually the pulling power’ of a cleaner, however with no airflow it is impossible to remove embedded fur and dirt from the carpet to the bag or bin.

Assorted tools & accessories

It is also wise to choose a cleaner that comes with extra tools or accessories e.g. specialized roller brushes that have been specifically designed to help pick animal fur and other loose fiber materials on the carpet and floors. If you acquire a cleaner with no roller brush, it will be really difficult to remove animal furs that are stuck on the floor coverings and fabric surfaces.

Some vacuum cleaners may also come with a power head or a turbo head. While both have a rotating brush, the former uses an electric motar to drive the rotating brush while the latter contains a turbine that is attached to its main airflow. If your floor is made of hardwood or a combination of bare floor and carpet, you may need to look for a machine that contains a removable brush, since this accessory can scratch hardwood.

When buying a vacuum cleaner, you may encounter bag less versions. The major advantage of these types of vacuum cleaners is the reduced operational expense. This is attributed to the fact that you do not need to purchase bags which usually cost around 1 to 2 dollars each. The flipside is that you will have to unclog the filters and dumb the dust bin every now and then. Conventional cleaners are far much easier and quicker to clean because you will only need to toss the filled bags and fit a new filter whenever you mount a new bag.

A vacuum cleaner that meets the following criteria; simple to handle, easy to maintain and offer a faster way of using the attachment with hose and extension wards, is always the best machine to consider.
