The Devils Honeypot

In my opinion, UCC and various forms are just the Devil’s honeypot.

Millions of UCC’s have been filed over the past 20 years since the idea first gained popularity in the mid nineties. How many of them have provided the expected benefits?

I don’t know of any first hand winners, but have heard legions of that infamous “friend of a friend” stories.

Granted, that may be because the successful filers are lounging on a beach in San Juan and there is no need to troll chat rooms to teach others. But if it was bulletproof, it would be vetted by now and the process would be streamlined. Of course, a case can be made that it is, since the market for UCC filings has expanded, businesses have sprung up to assist newbies. https://www.cscglobal.com/global/web/csc/ucc-filing.html

Buying “medicine” is different than finding a cure.

Sure, sometimes a UCC may work, but if they don’t work consistently, that should give one pause…..Millions have been filed incorrectly? Law of averages says probably not. Consider a normalized bell shaped curve. If several million have been filed, let’s pretend that half were done incorrectly. (unlikely because the internet is full of people complaining that the state rejected their filing, so a fifty percent figure is generous) That would mean that around one million were filed correctly. A million “success” stories should produce many enlightened people who might simply blog “Here is how to do it”.

UCC filings are public, so there is no privacy issue. Why not post: “here is the link to my UCC” fill it out the way I did and reap the benefits.” I have only seen a handful of posts like that out of the millions of UCC filings. I mostly see profiteers that sell that “secret” information for PUBLIC forms and even at that, the number of them is rather puny.

Since the UCC was written by lawyers (pronounced Liars) you may want to ponder the advice given to you about them.

King James Bible
And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

I have searched the Bible and it does not mention that on the eighth day, he created the UCC. It was created by his popiness. Of course the UCC could also stand for the United Church of Christ, thereby giving balance to the acronym energetically.

The concept of the UCC as a honeypot is not a new idea, as espoused here a few years ago;

http://mikiverselaw.blogspot.co.id/2013/02/frank-ocollins-thoughts-on-ucc.html

It is hard to understand why remarkably well researched UCC /Legal / Law scholars have filed UCC’s, but after several years they only remain OPPTomistic about their success instead of enjoying their success.

The ploy is remarkably similar to The Restore America Plan led by Tim Turner. Not surprisingly, the acronym was TRAP. Only those with eyes to see might recognize the symbolism.

honey pot

A woman's vulva or vagina.

He spread her legs to get a better view of her honey pot.

In the world of espionage, it is the code word for a woman who is supposed to seduce a man in order to pump secrets from him, steal things from him, etc.

That honey pot stole the comrade's military codes while he slept.

In other words, the same sexy deception as in the Garden of Eden with the same result. You get screwed.

2 Corinthians 11:14

And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

You can thank Edward Bernays for the Devil’s makeover. The horns and pointy tail made people think twice, and if there is anything he doesn’t want, it is THINKING people.

It’s no secret that they love to repeat the same game over and over. And if you have a game plan that works, why change?

By ANALOGY: Definition - What does Honeypot mean?

A honeypot is a decoy computer system for trapping hackers or tracking unconventional or new hacking methods. Honeypots are designed to purposely engage and deceive hackers and identify malicious activities performed over the Internet.

Multiple honeypots can be set on a network to form a honeynet.

Techopedia explains Honeypot

There are many advantages to honeypots. The main one is the ease with which they are employed. Another advantage is that although honeypots seek small amounts of hacker information, the information is considered highly valuable for studying and uncovering hackers' motivations.

Honeypot systems are not perfect, however. They contain the usual technology risks such as firewall penetration, broken encryption methods and failure to detect attacks. In addition, honeypots are unable to detect attacks against systems that are not honeypot systems.

There are two different kinds of honeypots. They are classified based on their deployment method:

  • Production Honeypot: Used by companies and corporations for the purpose of researching the motives of hackers as well as diverting and mitigating the risk of attacks on the overall network.
  • RESEARCH HONEYPOT: USED BY NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF RESEARCHING THE MOTIVES AND TACTICS OF THE HACKER COMMUNITY FOR TARGETING DIFFERENT NETWORKS.

Honeypots are not always designed to identify hackers. Honeypot developers are often more INTERESTED IN GETTING INTO THE MINDS OF HACKERS, which then permits them to design more secure systems, as well as to educate other professionals about the lessons learned through their efforts. Overall, honeypots are considered an effective method to track hacker behavior and heighten the effectiveness of computer security tools.

It is possible that there may be some merit to the UCC filing, but methinks there is something else to it.

Just something to consider.
