Question:

What is your opinion regarding ‘Revolution Flag’?

Answer:

It is not allowed for anyone to make something lawful, which Allah has made unlawful or to make something which Allah has made lawful as unlawful without proper evidence and proof. The ruling on Revolution Flag is dependent upon the meaning being derived from it. If while raising the flag, they derive the meaning that it is a symbol of regime fall/collapse & it is a sign of this blessed revolution which resulted in the shaking of the tyrannical departments, then there is nothing wrong in using it from Islamic point of view. And those who raise this flag, it is known of them that they don’t point through it a secular state, but they use this flag as a symbol & sign for regime fall/collapse, and using it in this way is permissible.

It is because of ignorance in the religion of Allah that it is stated that ‘Flag Cloth’

Whether it be black or green or white, its followers base upon it their ‘al-Wala wa al-Bara’ (loyalty & disavowal).

It has a lesson in it for brothers that what is seen is the goal of that fighting (under the flag), not the colors of the flag.

Whoever is fighting for the fall of regime, then he is avenging against oppression & if dies in this state, then Allah willingly, he is a martyr and whosoever is fighting so that the secular Assad regime project is replaced with another secular project, then he is not a martyr and whosoever is fighting so that it be ruled by other than Shari’ah of Allah, then for such the verdict is already mentioned in the Quran by Allah:

ومن لم يحكم بما أنزل الله فأولئك هم الكافرون

[And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, such are the disbelievers]

To add further, it is ignorance that one should look at the flags & if it is written upon it:

[There is no God but Allah], then the bearer of that flag is a Muslim!

Otherwise, a secular!

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) flags used to have no insignia nor was anything written over them, but it used to have any word, that was blended with some colors… One shouldn't put customs into practice so much that it starts considering those customs part of the belief!

May be the mistake was made in this chapter because people went into ignorance over the meaning of  the ‘Islamic Flag’.

And they assumed that this means some ‘Cloth’!

Whereas, it meant aims and objective of fighting.
