This works for v1.6 / 1.6.1 of the mod.
Install "Spamheinzs HD Houses".
After the installation, go in your Skyrim Data/textures/architecture/farmhouse folder:
-DELETE:
thatch02.dds
thatch02_n.dds
thatch03.dds
thatch03_n.dds
*Those files make the roofs actually worse than vanilla.
