Hijacking a Mujahid organization - Not the fist time.
Sayyid Imam, Dr. Fadhl, was a big AQ scholar known by the pseudonym AbdulQader ibn AbdulAziz. He wrote important books like Al-Ummdah. But Sayyid Imam went into extremes concerning Takfir. So Dr. Ayman denounced some of his work & didn't want this to be published in the name of AQ. This shows the alertness of AQ leaders & their strictness in sticking to the pure Manhadj, instead of following their scholars blindly.
Dr. Ayman corrected these mistakes. But Sayyid Imam didn't like this critique (on his book Al-Haadi illa Sabeel Ar-Rashaad for example). This made Sayyid Imam turn against the Mujahideen of AQ & defamed them very harshly. Especially when he was imprisoned after 9/11. So the current defaming campaign against Dr. Ayman is not new. Dr. Ayman is an experienced Mujahid leader who has seen it all. Sayyid Imam went even further than the current defaming campaign & said things about Dr. Ayman & Sh. Usama etc. which are unimaginable.
But if AQ didn't denounce these teachings right away (Takfir on all voting Muslims for example), this would've led to spilling of Muslims blood. This teaches us that an organization could spiral into extremism if the leaders are not careful. And AQ has much experience in this matter. IS should learn from this, no organization is faultless. Sayyid Imam was a big scholar of AQ! But they did not follow him blindly! This preserved AQ from possible a very big Fitna: AQ spared many Muslim lives by renouncing these extremist teachings of Sayyid Imam. An organization could easily be hijacked by deviant & extreme scholars, like Sayyid Imam tried to hijack AQ. IS must learn from this danger!
