Codex de Vita, Codex of Life, the Manual of Life

Living by the Codex de Vita is one of the responsibilities of the Followers of the Night. Codex's are lessons that gives a general guideline for life, the treatment of others, and respect for nature and the Gods.

In the Name of the Gods, the Night, and the Realm, may the Ternion comfort the broken, heal the sick, and strengthen the weak

I) The Gods are unlimited in their power and wisdom. They are to be feared as well as respected.

II) Hierarchy is key to stability and justice, it is to be respected and preserved at all costs. Fair justice and representation is available to all of the Followers of the Night.

III) Abuse of power is evidence of monetarism and corruption. Relieving corrupt officials from office within the Following is a guarantee granted from the Gods.

IV) Daily Rituals must be preformed to cleanse oneself and your surroundings for each day new evils are born and poison us. The Gods must be invoked for us to be spiritually and mentally cleaned.

V) Whenever you encounter someone down on their luck, spread the message of love and acceptance by lending a hand, an ear, or a shoulder for them to cry on.

VI) Do not harm animals, for they are just as divine as you are. The Gods love all creatures, big and small. Do not kill unless in self defense, this covers anything that has been granted life from the Gods.

VII) Women and Men are equal in the eyes of the divine. So they should be equal in your eyes as well. Divorce, owning of property, and military service are gender free. No restrictions are to be based on gender.

IX) Pets are to be kept if only they are treated with respect, being held with as much respect as your children or your spouce. They are to be washed, fed, and cared for. If you do not have the home, financial ability,` or time to care for them, then find them a home that will be suitable for them. If the animal can live in the wild, release it. Denying the animal a fair life is a act against the Gods.

X) Nature is the be preserved, destruction of wildlife is a primary and direct offence to the Gods. Spirits live there, it is their home. It is to be maintained and saw after. A trip to the wilderness is advised at least once a month.
