The Game Concept 2D & 3D
Rover Game
J

We developed an idea of a solution game. It’s only an idea, but I personally thought that
it might help improve the 3D printing solutions by bringing various innovative ways of thinking and it’s meant to target the teenage gamers and the children. (It’s just a concept but the team decided to show the ‘gamer’ side of us, and we uploaded it – we didn’t have the time make it )

2D game concept

This game is basically made for mobile phones and tablets . You have a rover shop, where you can make your own rover and sketch your own innovative parts. And you basically drive it on a terrane of the few planets you can choose from.

You have to drive the rover and to make the smartest, easiest, fastest way to get to the final goal-destination. And you get points for that. The laws of physics are implemented and the easier the rover navigates and makes his way to the goal, the better the score.

3D game concept

The laws of physics are implemented in here also. Everything is like in our universe.

In the game you can choose planets and have different environment and different terrane and different scenarios by which the game will develop. You will have different rovers and varicosity of sets with which you can upgrade the rovers and you can develop your own tools and own ideas and implement them on the rover so it could easier access the needed location and find the thing it’s looking for to complete the mission. By ending a mission in the most creative, fast way you get bonus points. You will have galactic shops (ex. Klingon shop on some planet) where you can buy done 3D parts with the points to improve your rover.

The game will have easy, medium and hard levels and each of the levels will have different missions.

The easy level will have driving missions through tricky terranes and you can modify the wheels and the rover functionality by choosing various objects of the large list and combine them. (there can be weird solutions, but also ones really really smart and productive). There will also be races with rovers, and the most functional ones and probably the fastest ones getting to the wanted destination would win. The more successful the rover it is the better and bigger the upgrades it gets and the higher ‘lvl’ it is.

The medium level will force the rover to survive the rough climates, and the launch, landing, and the whole trip getting the wanted outcome and surviving through that challenge. And the astronaut (you) will have to think on the whole thing of how to make his rover the best and how to have creativity and functionality at the same time. All laws of physics will be valid so the game will be realistic and for us to be able to gather the solutions of it engaging the young creative minds. All materials will have the same features as ours, and there will be a lot of data on new materials we invented almost everything of the periodic system of elements will be useful in the game, there will be already given examples of how to assemble the rover and a lot of useful parts to improve the rover preformance.

The hard lvl will have full long complete missions where you can detect database and go from point A to point B to point C etc and always upgrade it.
There will be sudden threats like martian invasion, eruptions, harsh climate, meteors, and lots lots of unpredictable features and events. The rovers will have ‘Astronaut Help’ or ‘Space Station’ Help where they can get tips and tricks of how to solve a mission.

Also, there will be a interesting twist where if the game is played online, there will be arger galaxies and planets ruled by other species and a lot of rovers seeking for hard but accomplishing missions but also the rovers being a threat to one another. If weapons added to the rovers you directly have a battlefield game with sci-fi electronics and sci-fi ideas.
The game will have a shop in each galaxies and ships (if online) and you will get points-money and bonuses (if you belong to a galaxy/race) for a quicker, better more plausible solution of how you can get past the obstacles and complete the mission faster, and cleverly avoid other rovers to gather something.
The game will also have a Modeling Arena where you can model your own parts, and eventually even your own rovers. If you get attacked and you get severe damage, the rover might be nonfunctional and may ‘die’ BUT you will have few chances to make a smart,/cheap/interesting fix.
The concept needs to be developed theraly and fully and we don’t have the time to develop anything because of the previous tasks, but I thought that this might be interesting concept to talk about.
