This is a call from a frontline Libyan freedom fighter seated at the Tripoli gates (west gate) in Ajdabia.

 

SALAM ALIKUM BROTHER WE WOULD LIKE TO ASK ABOUT THE FRONTLINE TROOPS IN AJDABIA. CAN YOU SPEAK WITH THEM FOR US?

Q. CAN WE ASK ABOUT THE CURRENT SITUATION THERE ON THE GROUND ?

Today it is safe. There is no fighting today, no bullets or bombs.
In the morning there was fighting between the Gadaffi forces and FF.
G Forces are in area 40.It is in the desert area between Ajdabia and Brega
It was not as heavy as they have seen before.

 

Q. HOW ARE THE TROOPS HOLDING OUT ?

We have to do it to get the freedom for our country so we do this.
We feel strong.
We are right for freedom.

 

Q. ARE THE TROOPS GETTING FOOD AND WATER ?

We are getting food.
Things are not organised well.
Sometimes we are short of food.
We have some days really short.

 

Q. HOW ARE YOUR SUPPLY LINES ? Are the military suppling the FF ok?

We have a real shortage of bullets and guns.
We are trying to get them from Gadaffi forces.
We have no choice.
If we had the supplies we would be further ahead.
We are really short, this is why we are not moving so fast.
If we had the miltary supplies we would be ok.
We need this.

 

Q. WHAT DO YOU WANT THE INTERNATIONAL MEDIA TO KNOW NOW ?

If we had secure military supplies we would be in Tripoli by now.
We really need help for the guns.
Gadaffi guns are not like our guns.
Only we need something to get gadaffi out as soon as possible.
If Gadaffi stays here longer he will kill all our people soon.
We are only 4 million here he will kill all our generations.
We need him out of Libya.

 

Q. WHAT IS GADDAFI USING AGAINST THE FF NOW ?

Gadafffi is using bombs with the thing you find in the snakes.
I dont know the same thing like in the snake.
He is using grads.You know the big bombs.
( question IS IT POISON? DOES IT KILL PEOPLE?)
When you smell it or touch it.
If you smell it your neck will get so fat. (swollen).
if you touch it your body so fat. (swollen).

Q. CAN THEY SEE OR ONLY SMELL THE POISON ?

If you touch the bomb you get fat.
Only smell it.
It smells like propane so strong.
More strong then propane or gas. When we breath it
the neck it will close and we have to get them to the
hospital so fast.
After if we touch any of the pieces of the bomb it will make our
leg or arm so fat.

 

Q. ARE THERE ANY DEATHS

No deaths, 2 injuries.

 

Q. HAVE YOU SEEN ANY NATO ?

We did not see any planes.
The NATO are in Tripoli.This is what we are knowing.
They are not here.

 

Q. WHAT ABOUT BREGA ?

The Gadaffi forces have kicked all the families out from Brega.
The forces are in the houses.
We are not really sure what he has done with families there.
Because we can not get inside.

Q. So are you saying Gadaffi forces are in brega but not the FF?

NO. We cannot get in because Gadaffi forces are in all the families houses.
They are all around Brega.
