The media-famous grower of hemp, Timo Haara, is currently incarcerated. This Wednesday we received a call for help from the self titled “political prisoner”: “I ask for help from the person receiving this message; I’ve been forcefully medicated after last night’s phone-interview in Radio Rock”.

Timo Haara forcefully medicated in jail after radio interview
Timo Haara was ordered by the supreme court to an incarceration of 1,5 years on March. He was arrested in the Estonian border station during the end of August. On the 24th of August, Verkkomedia.org published news about the incarceration of the famous farmer and about the questionable sentence that he was given. Read the news here.
Timo Haara states that his sentence is of a political nature and that it has no basis on the law. He tells us that he has, in his possession, evidence that will prove the illegality of his sentence. In the preliminary investigations, Timo Haara says, some signs of malpractice, as well as tinkering of evidence to allow for his sentence, were discovered.
A request for help from jail – Contact severed!
Today, 31.8.2011, we received a message from Timo Haara in which he said the following:
“I ask for help from the receiver of this message. I have been forcefully medicated after yesterday’s interview in Radio Rock. I ask for the help of all of you who are worried about the current state of the Human Rights and Freedom of Speech in Finland. I have acted peacefully and appropriately.
It is not in my nature to act aggressively toward anyone, but after last night, after the radio interview, I was threatened by the medical staff of the prison with a drug-shot, if I would not concede to taking, in pill-form, a mood-changing pill, which I was subsequently forced to swallow. They said something about Seroquel and keiapin. When I said I did not want any medications like that, because I am a calm and properly acting person, and I don’t feel the need…

Was the end of the text censored? His phone cannot be reached any longer and he clearly was not allowed to finish sending his text, as can be seen. From the part that did get through one can, however, see that Timo Haara is now being medicated as if he were mentally ill. The medicine given to him, seroquel, is a neuroleptic medicine used for treating psychosis and schizophrenia.
Update: We received Timo Haara’s letter
Timo Haara has, according to himself, sent me a 7 paged hand-written letter on the first days of last week. On the basis of this letter we are prepared to compile an investigation about the, as Timo Haara puts it, “political sentence”.
Note! Unlike was earlier mentioned, we got the long awaited letter from Timo. It is obvious that this letter has been opened, which is a normal procedure of prisons.

I have waited for this letter, from which I would write a comprehensive article about his case. I have also interviewed him as of late, so I do have enough material for the article. Now I feel that it is even more important and relevant for me to publish Timo’s views.
