Similarity between the Khawarij and Rawafid

Extremism is not confined to the Khawarij only, rather it could be present in other sects besides them. Like it is evident from the words of Shaykh Al-Islami ibn Tamiyyah. And he notes a similarity between the Rawafid and the Khawarij in many issues concerning the leaving of the Sunnah and the Djama'ah (community) of the Muslims and innovations in the religion and Takfir on those who oppose them, and after that making their blood legal (Halal). The Khawarij claim (to raise) the Book of Allah and the Rawafid claim Ahl Al-Bayh (the Prophet's household), but both of them do not represent what they claim and they label the Muslim public as misguided. He (Shaykh Al-Islam) said: The Khawarij claim the Book of Allah and the Shia claim Ahl Al-Bayth, both of them do not follow what they claim.
The Khawarij and the Rawafid and labeling the Imams of guidance and the community of the Muslims as misguided:
Shaykh Al-Islam said: The root of their deviance is believing that the Imams of guidance and the community of the Muslims left the truth, and that they are misguided. And this is the exit door of the Khawarij out of the Sunnah, and the Rawafid and the like, then they record what they see of injustice; as disbelief. Then they build innovated rulings on (this) disbelief.
The Khawarij and the Rawafid, and the innovation in the religion, and Takfir on their opponents, and making their blood legal:
He said: Many people of innovation became like the Khawarij and the Rawafid, and the Qadiriyah, and Jahmiyyah, and the Mumathilah; they have false believes which they see as truth, and they consider those who differ with them in this as disbelievers.
He said: The case of the people of innovation is that they innovate a saying and make it obligatory in the religion, rather they even make it a necessary part of Imaan, and they make Takfir on those who differ with them in it and make their blood legal. Similar to the Khawarij, and the Jahmiyah, and the Rawafid, and the Mu'tazillah and the like.
Even tough the innovation of the Rawafid is worse than the Khawarij from the perspective of Imaan and Shirk, but the innovation of the Khawarij is worse in blood and looting the wealth and enforcing the sword on the Ummah, that's why Ahadeeth were revealed about them which ordered to fight against them.
