Url Dampening, & No. of Links?

I recently received yet another 'please help' email from the gentleman named Ian who runs a venture organization in Tanzania (http://www.betheladventure.co.uk ). Ian was worried about the result of the variety of issues including indexing and url dampening, and was eager for help. Regrettably, he'd read some relatively misleading articles previously, so he'd a somewhat mixed up knowledge of the factors at play. I chose to publish the facts of our conversation, because I imagine he is not alone in his distress and concern.

Ian's e-mail contained many issues. I have shown each separately below, followed closely by my answer.

Q: When I seek out the number of backlinks to my site using 'link:www.betheladventure.co.uk', I see only 23 results. It appears that only 23 of our backlinks have survived Google's dampening link filter. Can there be an occasion delay before they are attributed to some site? '

A: Firstly, I do believe you may have the dampening link filter somewhat puzzled. Based on the dampening link filter concept, your links are found and identified by Google, you simply do not have the full benefit from them until certain period of time has passed. The dampening url filter (if it exists) does not stop links from appearing in Google's results whenever you search for them. Browse here at linklicious.me coupon to learn when to allow for it. (The only reason your backlinks mightn't come in a Google search is if Google has not yet found the pages containing the links.) Also, do not worry too much about things like the dampening link filter. For a start, it's definately not proven / accepted fact. Several well-regarded Search Engine Optimization authorities do not believe in it in any way. Furthermore, even though it does occur, it only affects those companies using the budget to create the large numbers (hundreds or thousands probably) of links reputedly necessary to induce it. If you have an opinion about religion, you will perhaps choose to check up about linklicious.me affiliate. That's no issue, if your number of backlinks suddenly increases by 2-0. In the event you want to learn additional information about linklicious.me, we know about many on-line databases people should pursue.

And subsequently, do not think anything Google tells you. By looking for 'link:www.betheladventure.co.uk', you broadly speaking only see a small percentage of real links to your site. The best way to search for links would be to search for just the URL 'www.bethaladventure.co.uk', then to the page that displays next, select 'Find webpages that include the term 'www.bethaladventure.co.uk' .' Once you do it this way, you'll see most of the pages which contain your URL. In most cases, the URL is going to be an energetic link (or at the least it should be, and you should ask them to make it so). If you do this search, you'll see that your website has about 169 links, not 23.

Q: Another question is approximately indexed pages (using site:www.betheladventure.co.uk). I realize it is a history of pages which have been changed. I'd 3-2, it went down to 28 and it is down to 26 now today. Do they only keep the pages for a month or is there more towards the pages than I realized?

A: The number of indexed pages is simply the number of pages in your website that Google 'knows about.' Theoretically, the only time the age of a page is necessary is once the page is too young*, i.e. Google lions have not visited it however, or Google has not updated its index. As to the reasons the reported number of indexed pages is reducing, I believe it is just a temporary move. The amount of leads to Google's searches varies pretty much constantly.

*Actually, technically speaking, it's been suggested that Google isn't capable of indexing all 11.5 billion pages currently believed to be on the web (and the 10 million more that are added each day), and that as it indexes new pages, old pages are forced out from the index. (This is an extremely rough description of the theory - if it is happening at all, it's apt to be a lot more complex than this.) If this is happening, it might explain why the number of indexed pages is reducing. Although I think it's a long shot, a great way to handle it is to maintain high quality content, to keep producing backlinks, to keep increasing it, and to generate a Google sitemap. I know there's plenty of confusion surrounding these dilemmas, so I hope you have found this change valuable.

Happy indexing!.
