Where the Wild Things Are

It was winter. The ground was covered with snow. Max proudly had built an igloo. He ran to show it to Claire – his sister - but she did not give a damn because she was talking to her friends that were to come. Max decided to cheer the visitors with snow war! He had finished to prepare his fort. The munitions were already ok and the enemy was to come. The war became more and more intense so the things got out of control and the battle end up with his igloo smashed out.

He got angry and started to scream and destroy everything in his front. He went to Claire’s room and covered by snow jumped on her bed and broke her stuff up.  

In the Max’s head the things got different signs, he felt lonely and think that no one care about him. His mother, for example, she made frozen corn for dinner! And who was that strange man who she call friend? His mother didn’t understand what was going on. It wasn’t just a dinner! Maybe, if she was not so busy, she had recognized that at your side there was a child that wanted much more than a dinner on the table.

Amid a family fight his mother yelled at him, she said that he was out of control and asked him what was wrong with him. He got disoriented and started to yell and run. His mother call for him but he didn’t answer. He ran and ran so he ended up in middle of a forest with a little ship in front of him. He took the boat and started a trip adrift.

Max didn’t know where that boat could reach. It leaded him to a magic land, where wild creatures got life. He was exploring the place and found out a small village where some monsters live at.  So he hid behind some clump and watched what was happening.

The monsters were five: Carol, Alexander, Ira, Judith, Douglas and KW. Carol was like a big-headed guy, which loves KW. Sometimes, he was very happy and sometimes he was aggressive. Definitely, he was the most inconstant one. Alexander was the smallest monster and felt small, he seemed like a billy-goat and he liked to draw attention. Ira used to made holes, he was great on it! He and Judith were felt in love. Judith was like a rhino, she sometimes said offensives things. Douglas was like a weird yellow bird, almost 76 years old. He was really loyal with his friends. KW was a lovely creature which was friend of two owls: Bobby and Terry. She got a sweet voice.

The monsters were fighting, Carol was destroying the village. So Max, dressed like a wolf, decided to imitate them and started to run around the village screaming and hitting their houses, just like Carol. So the monsters became scared and threatened to eat him up.  

Max faced the monsters and said that they couldn’t eat him. He got ancient powers from another land and even little, he was very strong. One time he had to show his fury to a bunch of vinkings: said that they had attacked his ice fortress, but he conquered them and became their king. So they appointed him their king and Max became part of that wild day-to-day, bringing an union that for a long time didn’t happen. The king brought happiness to that place, he stated: “let the wild rumpus start!” and the village was celebrating!

In the course of time, Max discovered better the peculiarities of each monster, and he had identified himself with their feelings. They were looked for a cure to loneliness. They played so much and fight so much too. There were so many adventures and each one brought one sign and then Max realized that he must to turn back and went home, to your family.

He was leaving this foreign land and said goodbye to the monsters, it wasn’t an easy match, they had established very strong emotional ties so Max took the boat and went to your warm home eat an still warm dinner waiting for him.
