CHAPTER 1, THE ARRIVAL
Thud. The hotair ballon landed safetly on the snow ground. The warm temperature inside of the ballon was soon changed as I entered the winter mountain known as Wintertide. I burried my hands into my fur jacket, I hate the cold so much. London is much warmer than this. The windy snow sends chills down my coat.
As I arrived at the huge gate and speared fences that sorround the village, three hooded men stops me. Their wearing black robes with red ropes and a strange symbol envelopes the back side. A strange 'S' enclosed by a triangle. "You are not allowed to enter the village" says the first one in a deep voice. The other two dont seem to move, their faces well hidden inside their hood. "You dont seem to notice me, my name is a Jason Cambiare from CSI London" I begin. "Here to investigate the murder case of a dear friend, Katie Walch" I picked up my CSI badge and shows it to them. The golden shine gets brigther when the white snow reflects it. Three of them turned their backs and began talking in murmurs I cant understand. "Good evening, Mr. Cambiare, sorry for the delay, please go in" says the first man, his deep voice now gone and was replaced by a cheerful tune. The three scurried and I followed them.
The inside of the village was warmer. A lot of shops, a cathedral, a clocktower, a park and log cabin style houses all made up Wintertide. The three hooded men leads me to the local inn, Mrs. Fulcher Cake and Tea Shop. The shop was almost empty, just us four, a strange old man wearing a ragged wool coat and Mrs. Fulcher rustling up some weird concaction of tea from mint, basil and chocolate bars. She looks really hagged and unrested in her old robes and she doesn't stop murmuring to herself "Bake the cake, back the cake" But as soon as she shes us she immeadialty stops.
We took a seat, 3 chairs away from that old man. Two men to my left and that first man to my right, locking me in and keeping a good look of me. "Jerard, whos this" Mrs. Fulcher comes right up to us, she speaks in a perfectly good accent dispite the fact that she looks really old. Jerard, the first man speaks up "This is Mr. Cambiare from London, hell be staying here tonight" Mrs. Fulcher looks at Jerard worried. "Tonight? But..." Jerard puts a hand on his mouth, motioning Mrs. Fulcher to stop speaking about something. Then he coughes. "He will be here for a few days to investigate the death of Katie" The look of Mrs. Fulcher changes to approval.
The old man stood up and went up to the stairs that leads to the upstairs bedrooms. "He have to go boss" says the other two men. Jerard nods "Mrs. Fulcher, show Jason here to his room, Mr. Cambiare, goodnight" As the three of them left, Mrs. Fulcher motioned me to follow her. The stairs took us to a hallway of 8 doors, assuming the guest's rooms. "This will be your room" We both stop on a wooden door labeled '6'
"Thank you" she handed me my keys and leaves in a hurry. I opened the room to see a ceiling fan, a table, one bed, a wardrobe, a lifesize mirror and a lamp. I took off my big furred jacket that was enough to hide my bags. Extra clothes, investigating materials, my fathers flintlock pistols, a few bullets and other miscellaneous items. I stood in front of the mirror, my size is about of the mirror. My curly blond hair was reflected by the bright yellow light in thelamp, and my milk white British skin reminds me of the snow outside. Fairly handsome, if I do say so myself. Not to bad for a 15 year old member of the CSI.
I unstraped my jacket and got into my under clothes and begin to doze off barely noticing a white folded letter under the table. I opened it to reveal a scruffy handwriting that says:
"Dont trust the Sway"
CHAPTER 2, THE DEAD's DIARY
I woke up with blurry eyes. I cant sleep last night, because of that stupid clock tower. I think its broken because every few minutes it sounds. Which is suppose to be every hour. Thank God that it stopped after nine sounds. I look at the window and stare at it angrily. The face of it says '9' and its suppose to be 10 in the morning now.
