What is the Borderlands 2 Verification Tool?

It's a program, that verifies (checks) and updates your Borderlands 2 game files and ensure you are using the correct and latest files. The tool will help fix/solve a lot of problems/errors that occur in Borderlands 2. For more detail read above.

 

How do I use it?

Install Borderlands 2 (with updates/DLC) or any repack, before using this tool. Run “Borderlands 2 Verification Tool” (as Administrator). Select the path to your Borderlands 2 game directory. Then select which components (LANGUAGE(S) & CRACK) you want to have updated/verified. Finally press VERIFY and wait till the automatic progress completes. Once completed, press UPDATE. Finish it and quit.

 

How does it work?

The tool first compares your local borderlands 2 file hashes with the hashes of the components you had chosen and the full updated clean Borderlands 2 files (incl. all DLC). Then if the hashes are missing or incorrect, the files will automatically be downloaded from Voksi's FTP*. The files get placed in the correct path and it's done.

*Although we have protection for it included; Please don't abuse this tool and download the whole game via it. Only check and update your existing game. Else the server might get overloaded and you ruin it for everybody else.

 

Why was this tool created?

It was mainly created to fix the "version error" which occurred often if you want to play cracked online. Having everybody with the same clean files will hopefully fix it. And, because there are so many updates and DLC available for Borderlands 2, which can cause problems and it's hard to have everything correct installed. That's why many use repacks, which can cause problems too.

 

Who created this tool?

Bongsmoke, he deserves most of the credit. He did an outstanding job developing this tool and put a lot of his spare time in it. Besides that had Bongsmoke some very clever ideas for the tool and added security. And don't forget his beautiful GUI!

Thanks to U4Fun for borrowing his steam account to make sure only the correct clean game files would be used for this project.

Also thanks to Voksi, without his awesome FTP we couldn't use it for uploading the files. He puts a lot of effort in maintaining the server.

And Royalgamer06 for the original idea and concepts, keeping the game files up to date and uploading it to the server, providing the file hashes (thanks to Bongsmoke's custom program) and brainstorming.
